... Well, not in a game editor, before.

I know that in real life foilage is the branches and twigs on trees, the leaves, etc.

In the Galaxy Editor though? Could mean anything.

It's probably such an obvious or noobish question, but what can I say? I'm a noob.

So, could some kind soul enlighten me?

Thanks in advance!

Its basically what you said "branches and twigs on trees, the leaves, etc," you probably won't be able to view it if your terrain related settings on the editor and game are low, but just turn them up to medium and you'll see the foliage on the map.

Yeah it's generally set to use game settings, but that can be changed.

Foliage is random doodads the game places to 'spruce' the map up a bit. Personally I hate it, and it's extremely laggy if you have high graphics settings.

For people running on Ultra I found that if there is Foliage on the map, it puts A LOT of it, even if the density is low, and thus creates huge lag.

All in all I'd suggest you put the doodads there yourself, so everyone can see them, and they aren't as laggy.

Is there a way to remove foilage if one accidentally placed it there?

It looks good and as someone who hates - or rather sucks at - placing doodads manually, I would use it, but if it is as laggy as Rispetto claims, it seems best not to utilize it.

Thanks for the help so far, perhaps you could aid me a bit more in this regard?

*Huge Smile*

Go to the foliage tab, click remove foliage, then you should get like a white fog over everywhere on the map where foliage is located. Use the remove foliage tool to .. well .. remove foliage. When you're finished, click on add foliage, then generate foliage if you wish to see the effects.
