Fog and destructable visibility

A few questions about terrain/doodads/destructables and fog.

1) Fog allows the player to see what the map looks like in masked areas like in the picture below. Is this standard? I would prefer it to be pitch black where he's not supposed to see yet.

2) In the same picture only non destructables are showing. This hill actually has a lot of trees which do not render at all, making it look empty and ugly. So if I can't get rid of the 1st issue, I will have to fix this one at least.

Is this behavior controllable in any way? Below is a screenshot of what actually exists there if I turn mask and fog off.

Do you mean that it is unexpected behavior? Seems like it for sure.
Oh, I see now.
That effect (your problem) appear because "Use terrain Fog" is checked. Just disable that and your map will be pitch black.
It's not necessarily an unexpected behavior. I just never saw that because I never worked with terrain fog.

Update: Check this option if you want to see your tree model in fog.

Can probably cover them with some kind of dummy fog doodad and ctrl+pgup them above the doodads, and remove them when the player character goes near them. Probably won't work and may have to code a solution.
