ever hear of the pee light bulb?
a few girls made a light bulb that runs on urine
that was in Congo about 2 years ago. it uses a reaction that works with the potassium in pee and currently it used by researches that work in the north or south pole during their 42 days without sun.
India also produced some technology and I believe the creator was quite young. they were even made a nominee for a noble prize . they created a cellphone charger and battery that could be charged in seconds instead of minutes/hours. using capacitors instead of transformers they did some magic I don't really understand to created the system.
then in Southend Africa a bunch of college kids created the first laser that could cut and shape things in 3-D. before that everyone was only using lazors for making 2 dimensional cut outs of metal and so on.
Africa also got the award for the best programmers in the world. I believe it was a Nigerian who beat the previous record holder a German
