I'll go for Tinker or the Alchemist.
Usually while I play melee I go for Tinker first though.

Alchemist. He is really underrated because of his poor resistance, but can be super destructive. In a team game, I once managed to use Faerie Fire with an Orb of Corruption. With the Acid Bomb, the armor reduction was ridiculous (-13, -14 or -15 depending on the level), I killed a 3/4 health Death Knight in 4 or 5 hits.

If you have the time and money, you can set up bases comprised of all the other races, if they're available. Then you can just dominate your opponents, with Mountain Giants, Tauren, Steam Tanks and all that.

The pandaren Brewmaster is my choice... Who doesn't want to hug that big ancient and wise panda that makes all sorts of drinks and ales... Also he has quite powerful mystic spells.

i wouldn't pick these pandaren because theyre cute,they can totally harass wisps that collect by Breath of Fire,slow an annoying Blademaster... and destroy a whole army with the ulti

Goblin Tinker -- give him Mana and he will spam pocket factories and cluster rockets all day, in addition to being one of the fastest Heroes around with his engineering upgrade; which also upgrades all of his spells. Pick him and you have the finest in (WC3) high technology at your fingertips.

Well its about 6 months old thread which you two revived.
However, I will vote for Firelord.
A soul burn is the most awesome ability to me. Lava Spawn can do job, Incernation can help. ell about VOlcano, I am not a big fan of it, but I guess it can do its job sometimes.

I like firelord too. He's good when you're attacking an enemy base with heavy defences. Tinker and Dark ranger's minions can help in siege battles too.

When I fight my brother in melee, he always build a lot of defences near his main base. Firelord's volcano or tinker and dark ranger's minions will help me pushing through his defences.

Although... if we are to talk about the Firelord... i think he's best suited to ally with an undead Lich, since the combination between ice and fire is most deadly.

Dark Ranger. She creates a huge skeleton army in no-time, silence can make enemy heroes really useless, drain of life can kill enemies quickly and restores HP. And with Charm you gain mighty units.

The Dark Ranger, because you can get all races just by picking her (Charm, hehe).

Not that i'd wish to put the Dark Ranger in a bad light... but by picking the undead race, you get exactly the same possibility... to explain: Banshee > Possession > enemy workers.

True enough... the topic is about heroes. Yet i was just pointing out that sometimes a certain hero's "attribute" isn't only available when you have him, but also in other circumstances.
