2-8 Players - Dalaran/Custom Tileset - Huge Map size - RPG type map
I'm making a new map in which will have Final Fantasy like game play; meaning turn based, 3(maybe 4)(Heroes)vX combat. It has a job (22 regular classes so far)system like Tactics but battle system like most the other games and as popularity (or motive) increases I'll make it more immerse. The way I currently envision the game, is it will have play style in which winning is achieved at their own pace; making competitive or relaxed game play possible(varying with mode). You'll have all of 'Ivalice' to traverse, meaning they'll be towns with shops (and maybe quests), fields, caves, and forests to explore with monsters to battle and train off of, and like anything final fantasy a couple secrets and a crazy boss (or two).
I also envision this map to have a couple modes. The first of which is 'Arena Mode', where there could be a PvP and/or a PvE ladder to battle. Another is perhaps 'Story Mode', where your main objective will be to smite the ominous threat growing out there somewhere intending to cause mass destruction! :cry: (OH NOES!)

Story Mode:
When you pick the first member of your team he becomes the 'main' character and gets a unique job specific quest chain. (Which only one of each player will have access to.) Every quest leads up to the uncovering the (you might have guessed it) Scourge entering the FF world! Before this threat grows anymore you go to a place and stop this- if you can. The player that does- wins. Along the way your main character gets unique items and abilities.

Final Fantasy (especially Tactics) and Warcraft are among my most favorite game series. This idea has me so motivated that I've even posted here for the first time. This game will be unique and about tactics (not just number stacking) and most of all- fun... and maybe a bit nostalgic to those who stopped playing FF at FF9 like me.

Alas, this project could turn out awfully large... and as most mappers know, motivation is probably your biggest enemy and if it's not, than I'm lettin' you know its mine. I could probably make this map on my own but I would love some help. With any amount of motivated help, I will surely get this map completed thoroughly and done well.

Just PM me if you're interested or just post here. Let me know how you feel about this project, your schedule, and your skills in any message regarding recruitment. I am completely open to any and all suggestions. I have just about any type of IM out there as well.

Here a couple early screen shots...

The game starts off in a cinematic-like job selection. (Resembling that of FFT.) Although models are subject to change. xD 'You' are in the center of the class and 'turn' around with each arrow key. As you pass the class it animates something a little fancy and a selection (starfall caster) animation plays (Also like FFT).

Just an early screen of a the initial town you start in. Depending on your class(and game mode) depends on where you start. There a few places 'in town' where you spawn. I.E. Knights spawn at barracks, thieves spawn in guild/hideout area. Although teams will consist of up to 4 classes (not 100% on that yet.) You will have a model of the first class pick as the team 'mascot'. (Like in most FF games)

If it's 1) I would try it xD - ok I'm not the imba map-dude but just a try - you can kick me later then anyway if it isn't enough ^^.

:D Hey, help is help. I don't think I want a big team just an efficient, talented, devoted one. :p (Duh? IDK...) My biggest area of assistance needed... is all the coding. (Duh? IDK...) Just let me know what you can do, times your on regularly, any instant messenger you have... And we can work something out. =D

NOTE: remember all this could be subject to change and theere is more to the town than what is typed here.
Blue Circles indicate shops and Green Circles indicate some of the event spots.

Blue Circles
A= Tavern/Bar. Where you can find quest requests (like in FFT)
B= An Outfitters where you can get certain items, mostly accessories.
C= Blacksmith has weapons/armor
D= This is an Alchemy Shop. Potions/Ingredients/Etc, bought there.

Green Circles
A= Chemist spawn point. outfitter quest?
B= Revival Area. White Mage spawn point.
C= Foriegn Area/Embassy. Samurai Spawn point.
D= Hideout. Thief Spawn point.

Well... The battle systems. If you can make those... than GG. The battle systems need to be as identical to FF as possible.
Including but not limited to; menu system, active style ATB (that works with speed), limit breaks, and an ability menu (that changes). Up to four units per side. (unless PvE which would be up to 12) 'Back' and 'Front' rows that affect range. There are more details...
