Inviting your friends to vote for you, bribing random members with rep and otherwise cheating with the VB poll system will get you disqualified, banned from future contests and neg-repped, depending on the severity of your case. This includes, but is not limited to, sending PMs out to various users, getting other people to send those PMs, advertising this contest on other sites with the intention to gain more votes (whether it is explicitly stated or not), and so on. If you are suspected of cheating, the staff will notify you and interrogate you.

Additionally, voting for your self is not encouraged, because the vote will not be counted anyway.

Entries that are valid on the poll doesn't equal immunity; either cheating the poll or being evaluated by the judge that your entry is violating the rules of the contest or the site's in general, automatically puts your entry at risk.

I have only played some maps.Kobas has the most flashy and most laggy boss entry.Aeroblyctos has an interesting knockback system, though i didnt manage to defeat the boss,i liked it.I played Matija's map since it is a wip,the map is like a God-of-War-ish theme.Xiliger's map made a bug, when i died and saved on a second stone,it revives me outside the path, leaving my game useless

My vote goes to Matija(even though the camera bugged after i defeat the first set of tentacles)

Kobas: pretty good idea for a boss fight BUT very few moves :( and perhaps 2D would have been!

Aeroblyctos: pretty good! all the boss spells were awesome but the hero spells were a bit simple=/

Xiliger: great combat & terrain (except the things mentioned in the picture) perhaps add cam lock screen?
ContestMapBossPic001.jpg

MaTiJa97: awesome and unique map idea! controls were a bit bad (wc3 delay) & the boss was easy to kill, kill lava tentacles and you win?o.o but overall an epic map!

Didn't fix the bug i reported about being able to jump through the gate:
unless it's Jump Hidden Passive: Pass through walls?:D
ContestMapBossPic003.jpg

Epic Boss View but was too easy to kill:(

When i was playing with Fraps on i had screenshot shortcut to F1 and record shortcut to F2, this was the outcome:

DeathChef: good map but the gameplay was a bit weird, i didn't find a way to kill the boss o_O

Hey guys, now that I've been formally announced as one of the judges I'd like to introduce myself, sort of.

First off I'd like to apologize for the last minute judge addition - obviously that might take you guys by surprise, but I can promise that I will do everything in my power to make my judgment as clear as possible in writing to facilitate the understanding of your scores. Obviously as it is official, I have the necessary knowledge and experience to understand and recognize the content that you've produced, and properly pass judgment.

For now I'll say good luck - you will hear more from me soon.

I am sorry about my entry, the boss fight was better, I don't know what happened. It had 5 waves, each with different creeps and tentacles and chance to attack the boss directly between them. I wish I found it sooner and fixed it before the poll was up :(
Anyway, thanks for all the votes :D

edit: I will post the right version in the map section and provide a link here, so is it possible that the link, or at least the information of the real version existing, gets posted to my entry?

You can just as well upload the new version in the Maps' section, so either way, you get that chance. :)

All of the entries were great :)

MaTiJa97's map was the coolest, but I thought Xiliger's boss fight was the most entertaining. I am not a fan of the keyboard controlled maps because of a lot of things, but MaTiJa97's map did it really well, too bad the combat wasn't as exciting as all of the flashy weapons.

Aeroblyctos's map I thought was cool in the whole picking items bit, but the actual boss fight was just a-moving the boss and clicking a few heal spells and a few target casts. I like boss fights that are more involved where you have to move around and dodge things or figure out its weakpoint like in nintendo games.

Kobas's map I thought just had too few moves, and the gameplay was pretty stale just attacking and hitting the laser beam button, which was awesome enough to not need anything else for about the first 30 or so times cause its a giant laser.

DeathChef's map was interesting, but after about 6 tries I still had no idea how to kill the thing. I'm not sure if I was just supposed to avoid it because of the endgame time survived thing. So to me it was confusing.

So after playing them all I voted for Xiliger because his/her map was the most entertaining to me.

Yeh I am regretting not putting in a beginners mode for my entry.
Oh well at least I have more than I need to go on with a new update for my map.
Not going to be a simple balance mode (as I am going to do more than just that) so I wasn't going to be able to finish it by the time this poll was up. Thanks for the feed back, even on my map comment page.

I've always wanted to play an intense combat in skill game so this is why I originally wanted my map to be this way. The way I've always wanted in a map. Nah in an actual game and this was the best way for me to represent what I want, through a map. A map something of my own creation.

This is why I wanted to submit my map to see my faults, although the difficulties where really more balanced for myself.
A major tip would be to 'use hotkeys'.

Kobas' DBZ boss made me lol but I hadn't the faintest idea what was going on.

My vote goes to Xiliger. The little build-up was a nice way to get used to the skills before the main boss, and the QTEs were cute. Seemed like a good balance of boss without too much engine fighting.

Hey guys, obviously it's too late for this contest, but while judging this I found the rubric to be severely lacking so I made up something a little better in my opinion.

I was hoping to hear what you guys think of it so here it is -

Concept

Explanation

Points Possible

Characteristics

What kind of map is this? Is it single or multi-player? Does it aim to demonstrate something new to the community? Is it meant to theorycraft some tutorial? Is it meant to tell a story? Be competitive? Encourage teamwork?
How likely are you to recommend trying this map to a fan of the map's genre?
Keep these things in mind while grading the rest of the map. For example a multiplayer competitive map might aim for supreme performance and map size compression while a singleplayer story should be immersive and intriguing.

You can award up to an additional 5 points for a map that excels in its category.

Aesthetics

How is the map visually, in terms of the terrain, triggered effects, and object data?
Keep in mind that some maps may have trigger-generated terrain.
Does the developer have an overarching style, or does it feel like detail concentration and thematic concepts are erratic?
Do effects persist for the right amount of time? Are they well-chosen, fitting effects?
Do units have scaling values, colors, selection scales, and ability icons that are reasonable? Do units visually make sense with their environment?

You can award up to 25 points in this category.

Design

Is the map supported by some original gameplay? If not, does it at least introduce some innovative concept to a stale genre? A map titled "Epic DotA" won't be very promising. If the map is competitive, is it balanced?
Is the map designer doing something different, or re-using the same constructs and gameplay as his last three maps?
Is the user-experience solid? Does the map have a meaningful title and description, a version number, an intuitive UI and set of controls? Is it easy to figure out who made the map and where to get the newest version? Is the user going to be frustrated trying to figure out how the map is supposed to be played? Is the event-flow ideal or could there be some improvements? Win conditions?
Are hints to the user, like game messages, floating texts, quest menus, easy to read? Or do they contain copious amounts of spelling/grammar mistakes, obscure or non-existant line breaks, lack of colors in helpful places or loads of colors in random places?
Is the gameplay enjoyable or does it just feel tedious? Is it satisfying to do something right?

You can award up to 25 points in this category.

Performance

Are initialization and download times reasonable for this type of map? Is there a lot of lag at the beginning of the game? Does the client's frame-rate decay over time? Are there sections of the map with too many objects?
Is the triggering reasonably well-done, or are there obvious improvements that should be trivial to the developer? Are periodic/variable event triggers leak-free?

You can award up to 25 points in this category.

Ingenuity

Does the map feel "complete enough" to stand on its own, or are there optional quests which don't work or heroes with only 1 ability while others have 4. Do game events feel finished or do they lack something?
Has the developer implemented a modular design? Is adding heroes or a new quest a sensible process or does the developer have to jump through hoops and implement a lot of repetitive data to complete the process?
Are map scripts and object data well formed, with meaningful categorization and nomenclature, or is it filled with "Untitled Trigger 2" and "Dummy unit 6"?
In other words, how easy would it be for a new developer to extend the original design?

You can award up to 25 points in this category.

Once again, this is not being used in this contest, but I've proposed that future contests use it.

My judging is ready but I have requested someone with more expansive knowledge of the vjass and scripting language to do partially the triggering judging. I am currently waiting on Pharaoh as he said he will find someone... a week ago. ;)

Final update from me

Since Pharaoh is not around for unknown period of time I'v send the results of me and Cokedmonkey to Vengeancekael. He will post them today or tomorrow. I can tell you that the judgement is quite different and we are not focused on one person's pedestal. Hopefully contestants will feel more appreciated and stimulated. We would not want anyone who doesn't win to let that hold him down from future endeavors.
