Easy Math equation

Okay, here is my problem:

Today, Mr. A, is 4x older than his son Lukas. 2 Years ago, he was 6x older as his son 3 years ago.

How old is Lukas?

If anyone can make it for me, I would be very glad. I'm somewhat having some problems ^^ +rep for help

x=4y
x-2=6(y-3)
4y-2=6(y-3)
4y-2=6y-18
4y+16=6y
2y=16
y=8

I'm thinking Lukas is 8 years old.

If he was 8 years old Mr. A would be 30 when he was 5.
Then, today Mr. A is his son's age times four, which means he would be 32 and two years ago he was 30.

Right?

My equations:
With A being Mr. A's age and L being the age of Lukas

A = 4*L

A-2 = 6*(L-3)
A = 6*(L-3)+2

4*L = 6*(L-3)+2
4*L = 6*L-18+2
2*L = 3*L-8
L = 8

8 is correct

it should be:
x=4y
x-2=6(y-5)
if I understand the last part correctly.

I just made it via testing and found out that the man is 56 and Lukas is 14.

Proof:

56=4x14
56-2=6(14-5)
->54=6x9

Edit: ok it just seems that I understood this task a bit wrong

Well it really doesn't make any fucking sense to me lol.

"There is a car there but it's not there where it is because it's there where it's not" makes more sense.

But english is not my main language so... muh?
