I've been working on a map to recreate a Dwarven city in WC3, and I've more or less got it how I want it so I decided to share it here to get some feedback.
The map is a 12 player map, so quite large, and is divided into many areas.
At the center is a throne room and forgeworks, and surrounding that is a commons area. Outside that is an outer ring consisting of a main entrance room, three minor entrance rooms, a barracks, a market, a vault, a manufactory, a vehicle depot, a gryphon aviary, a bakery, and a brewery, as well as many corridors and passages linking them together.
Outside the city proper there are various caves and mining pits which the minor entrances grant access to, while the main entrance leads to a small section of the map that is above ground.
Player starts are grouped with two players together in a cave outside the city, except for two starting in the above ground area. The cave networks are obstructed such that in order to reach enemy bases one must fight through the city in order to reach them.
This is my first attempt at creating a map so it probably still needs some polishing and tweaking, but I've done my best to make it reasonably decent - it's pretty symmetrical, it's got plenty of creeps and neutral buildings, and it's very highly detailed.
