If you dont care, then dont come.

I go with opt.1.It is annoying to see Sc2 forums in NE theme, and annoying still to change the theme for Wc3 and Sc2 again and again.

Option 1 would be most user friendly and reasonable, since we would see appropriate themes in the correct sections.

Or just as it is already allow warcraft players to see Night elf skin and starcraft lovers to see starcraft skin? It is said on first page how to set always to see what you want.
Anyway, you should go to your control panel options (http://www.hiveworkshop.com/forums/p...do=editoptions) and set default theme there because changing it as MasterHaosis showed you won't change it permanently!

While it's OK to be a WC3 section since THW and wc3sear.ch oh yes I as on WC3S too, it can't stay more of WC3. Imo it should be less of WC3. I wonder, whom are you doing all the war3 and 'I just started a war3 project' for ? The empty slots at battle net. the few that enter? That's what makes me lol even more. You don't even use Garena. Are you having guilt or thinking it is illegal server or something? At least the Chinese bring some activity to WC3 as it has become the center of WC3.

But it's no one's fault that you just started WC3 or 2 years ago. This game's like since 2002, 2003 for TFT and expecting this place to stay more WC3, lol. It should be even less WC3, no one's fault that you just started an old game.

The general problem is the fact that it is being done VejilkoM. ;)
Before the theme for the Wc3 forums was Wc3 and the Sc2 forums was Sc2.
Now the Wc3 forums are also Sc2, which doesnt really make much sense and FEELS like a kick in the balls for devoted Wc3 fans.

The reason people are still discussing this is mainly just principle.

I'm so sorry... The Night Elf theme only selection sounds good, although sometimes a bit of change would fit into the different sections in the forum. But it still looks promising to see icons and bright colors around the different forums too.

Hey guys! How about YOU make the Skin, then ask for it to be Implanted?

Awesome idea, the next texture contest maybe? :D
More skin options would be very nice.

Anyway I think I'll vote for the 1st option, coz I liked the how it was before.

I really think that we just need to let Ralle decide, and I think he did this for the future of Hive...

Yeah, we started as a Wc3 community, but its a high probability that on the coming years, that we would embrace SC2 more and more (I don't have SC2 btw and have no plans to buy it)... +you can change the default theme so why bother?

Either way he decides he's going to get people complaining:
-Wc3 people will complain about the new sci-fi front diminishing the importance of wc3 to the site
-Sc2 people will complain that Ralle isn't integrating Sc2 into the site fast enough

It's a lose - lose situation for him, and a whine - counter-whine situation for everyone else

SC2 is already embraced. They have a whole section. What will they care if we set the NE theme to default? They can just hang in their cosy corners in the SC2 section.

@Adiktuz: I bought it first day. Checked it out. There's no LAN and B.net is required. Yeah, okay.
But then I play a custom game; NO FIREBATS!!!
But then I lent it to my Korean friend. He got bored of it in 2 weeks. AND NOTE HE'S KOREAN.
I personally dislike SC2, and it annoys me that we have the Terran theme as default.

@GhostThruster: Same here, though the only reason would be because people are getting bought over by shiny graphics which Warcraft III would be able to implement in the future through patching and player made stuff.

Anyways, back to topic, our poll is already up for users to vote for their themes:)

{EDIT}
The Night Elven theme doesn't seem to have flaws in it, and is pretty comfortable for our eyes, so it's not really a bad choice if we have it as default for our new members to enjoy:)

Actually, if some artists could take the initiative that could be pretty sweet, perhaps a sc2 theme with less eye burn blue, or just something unrelated in general? People have been complaining about the lack of options a while now, so if we could get some actual users to take initiative to fix the problem instead of relying on mods that'd be nice.

I tried SC2 on my friends comp, and I really don't like it...

anyway, I would support what Ralle decides to do, as long as the theme change is reversible (like on this case)...

and I personally think that Ralle is actually considerate since he gave us the possibility to switch between the themes any time we want... If this was on other sites, they would probably make theme changes permanent...

I voted for something else... since I'm fine with the current state of the themes, since I can change the themes with just a few clicks... I think we're feeling bad about the terran theme, just because we had grown accustomed to the NE theme (I use the NE btw)...

anyway, I have another suggestion... why not just create a new theme that is neither Wc3 nor Sc2??? something that is originally for the Hive...

It doesn't matter, you can just go to your options and change the skin to what you like.
scroll down to the bottom of the page and choose the style you like.
That allows me to have it automatically switch styles depending which forum I'm reading, which also happens to presently be the most popular poll choice?
(Spoiler alert: no, it doesn't.)

And if you really give a damn how the site looks you CLEARLY spend too much time on the website, go do something productive.
Sorry, the designer side of my personality likes to have things be clearly identifiable. It's alright if you don't care, though. I don't mind that.

Admins, give us Protoss site theme!
That could be cool.

I suppose no one would be complaining, because they would get the right themes in the right sections, everybody wins, in a way.

Why not add another selection, "I don't care"
I agree with that. People, whoever started thread, do you mind that someone is netural, and its in all our interest to see who is for which option, ALSO WHO DOESNOT CARE.
When creating a poll, you cannot simply create option which do you like only. Have always in mind that poll is public, its for other people and their opinions, not for poll creator only.
I do not have anything to vote here.

I don't really see what all the fuss is about. I can see the need for finishing the Terran theme and adding additional variations, but I don't understand why we need to vote which skin should be default. You pick the style you want and go with that. Considering the Terran theme is in beta, I suggest using the NE theme for now.

Well, the thing is, new members by default will see the default theme first, in which, by default, will decide whether they want to stay here (For those who are bought by Colorful and Shiny stuff) or leave (For those who really care about what a Forum looks like before actually joining).

If they're here for the layout and not the community or modding, we don't really need them.

I think its a good thing that this site embodies all of blizzards (more recent) RTS games, that kindof feeling of interconnectivity, sharing, all those modders, artists, and end users in ones place sharing all of these ideas and this wealth of community is somthing special, and i personally dont really care weither its leaves or steel as my background as long as the hive continues to support this community and all these awesome blizzard modding tools.

What the hell does that have to do with anything? Have you not read the comments? We're not saying get rid of the frickin' SC2 and I hate the look, we just want our Wc3 back as Wc3 (and also hate the look)!
@TWIF: If this site's putting SC2's theme in the Wc3 section, then it obviously is embodying one RTS more than the other.

I really can't understand why people make this a bug issue... you can change the theme so what's the prob?

if ur thinking about the impression of people that would visit the Hive looking for wc3 for the first, well if they leave just because they see that the theme is Sc2, then they are not worthy of being here (as Skycraft said, Don't judge the book by its cover)...

We should be here because its the Hive not just because it has a wc3 theme or whatever...

No matter how it looks, The Hive will always be The Hive...

anyway, I think its better if a mod closes this thread asap...

Although it started off with that Night Elf theme first, which apparently is Hive's signature theme.

PS: Everytime I see this theme, it reminds me of the Hive even if it's just a slight resemblance of the theme.
