Create an ability+buff based upon 'Command Aura'. Set a negative value and change targets to 'self' only + range 1.00. add the ability to the affected unit. Removing shouldn't be a problem afterwards.

If you meant incoming damage use 'Hardnend Skin'

ill just do it DR super good's way seems to be the best way.

{EDIT}
When i add the ability to the unit it doesn't show it. Could it be cause the unit is a hero? Anyway to do with the targeted unit being a hero.

Negative value inner fire, cripple, soul burn (also silences), negative self-auras (trueshot, command), negative self-cast Roar or Battle Roar, self-cast Howl of Terror, item damage bonuses with negative values (no buff). Plenty of ways to reduce damage.
