After years of awesome updates and development, receiving a lot of love and becoming one of the coolest custom games for Warcraft both classic and nowadays Reforged as well, the moment at last has arrived. Director's Cut and congratulations!!! Hard...

Once you log into Bnet, you can choose the offline mode. That is what many people do if they play single player custom maps. So the only time you need an internet connection is just for the initial login part, the rest can be offline.
hmmmm ok. i just dnt trust activision blizzard anymore

so it will not work on warcraft version 1.31? tough luck....the game can see and can play single player but, when i invited my friend to come and play, whenever my friend joins, both of us will be kicked out from the map...sigh...i'd have to look for other games nos since my favourite game doesn't support older versions anymore

First things first, This map can be played both with reforged graphics and with classic graphics, i myself will be always playing with classic, because is the best!
Daemonic Sword ORPG . . . if i had to describe this map in a few words it would be: "The king of classic orpg war3 maps"

Now, don't be fooled because i called this map a classic, aka an old map, because if i had to compare this map to anything in the real world, i would have to compare it to the whole robot/it tech industry, because similar to that, Daemonic sword started like most other maps, having lots of issues and being pretty generic, But because of its amazing community and the people that worked on this map it evolved past normal standards and it became over the years the most exquisite and interesting rpg map in the whole war3 custom maps universe, heck 99% of all other games (outside of the war3 custom games) can't compare to what this map has become, even calling it just a map feels like i am making an injustice to it!

The sheer overwhelming amount of complexity this map has its beyond anything i've ever seen in any other game, so i'm going to try to explain in short most of it:

~ The Terrain:

The terrain in this map is excellent, it feels like you are actually entering a real world when you start playing, u can literally just click on a random spot on the mini map (considering you have the map on all visible) and you will lend on a place that looks like a cutscene from a well made war3 movie.

When you walk around this map and go from a place to another you can actually see the difference in landscape from the plants, the different types of earth, the animals, the creeps, the trees, etc.

Now this map like most other rpg maps has places like cities and dungeons, but that's where the similarities end, because the cities and the dungeons in this map are something special, the normal landscapes are good and look beautiful, but when you enter a city and even better when you enter a dungeon, you can actually feel the change, is huge, i would go and say, this map has the most beautiful dungeons you will ever see!

And nothing feels empty, for example when you walk in a forest, or in a city you will always meet with either a peasant, a random unit like a bandit, with a creep or a cute pet.
The cities in this map feel alive, the people feel like they actually have lives and have things to do and places to go to, it feels vibrant like a real city, (and that doesn't end with the cities either, everywhere u go you will notice how people travel and events happen).


~ The gameplay:

What i love most about this map is its power to combine simplicity and complexity, creating this amazing feeling of adventure and wonder.
You always want to go somewhere, to travel the lands and see what you can discover!
The map even rewards the players that do that, via unique spots, with lots of secrets that will help you greatly in your adventure.

Coming back to that simplicity part, even tho the map feels and looks so complex full of all these landscapes to look at and things u can do, the heroes, the units, and everything used in this map is similar to their normal selves from the original game, giving that sense of familiarity that simply says to you, "yes this is still the same warcraft 3 universe you love but just in a different world full of wonders".

Playing through this map sure is a different experience, because in a normal rpg you can sure do your normal creep farming and doing the very few quests there are (if there even are any), but not here, not only you have 2 Main quest lines (1 for good and 1 for evil) which are super complex (with amazing dialogues and stories) and can even change the world around you if you do them, but you actually have tons of other quest lines from different professions you can do, that will improve your hero in a lot of ways! (some of them are in plain sight and some of them are hidden).

This map has a very cool system of professions that actually are integrated in the gameplay and will help you during your many fights against creeps and bosses or solving dungeons, quests and many other riddles and problems that are all over the map that are a ton of fun to try and solve them.

From playing cool songs on your guitar to talking to people all over the world, to catching rare fish and hunting wild animals and even being able of breaking into fancy houses evading guards, lockpicking their chests and stealing their treasure :) this map's professions are simply put one of a kind!

Most of the time you will have so many things to do and experience that you won't even pay attention to your level bar and make levels and get stronger without you even noticing.


~ The items:

Once again this map excels at this point as well, having such a huge variety of different kinds of items, and most of them if not all are unique to this map, so many types of effects, stats and skills, the items in this map can give you is insane, and trying to collect them all and see what is best for your hero is lots of fun!

One unique aspect of this map that actually elevates it even more are the Sets, you can search and try to build up unique sets that are formed of different parts, trying to find those set parts to combine them feels like a great adventure and the reward is so nice when u finally manage to do it and to combine them, creating those beautiful set items, which have lots of unique stats, passives and spells that will boost your hero greatly!

One other unique aspect of the map is the fact that when your hero equips items, he actually does it, most of the items like weapons, shields, hats, etc can be seen on the hero and that is amazing! making you want to get those items even more!
And of course most of the items themselves have real shapes when they are unequipped on the ground as well, giving that increased sense of reality to the gameplay.

~ The Heroes:

There are 14 different heroes in this game, i call them heroes and not classes because the heroes, like everything else in this game, feel very much alive.
Every hero has 4 main spells and 1 hero specific "book" of spells which u can level up overtime, and with each level you will get new hero specific spells and passive that will level up on their own as well.

So basically every hero has pretty much 15 spells (some active and some passive), usually 2 or 3 of those being your ultimate spells (you will slowly get those ultimate spells and all the other ones after you level up and upgrade your hero's special "book" of abilities to the max).

Every player has his own backpack as well, the backpack has not 2 not 6 but 12 slots, and trust me you will need every single slot, because in this map you will gather plenty of items.
One other thing about the backpack and this is a brand new future, is the fact you can customize it! there are a ton of different skins you can get, that are found all over the map, some unique, some secret, most of them are of course very hard to get.


~ The boss fights:

Daemonic Sword is filled with mini bosses and bosses, and to my surprise and probably to everyone's else is the fact that every and each one of those, even the very small ones have their own mini boss battles events, making every fight special!

Of course nothing will compare to the boss fights in the Dungeons, those will be on a whole nother scale and level!

This map has the best epic boss fights you will ever see, fighting the dungeon bosses will actually feel like a challenge that will force you to think of strategies and ways to defeat them, making the reward so much better, giving the feeling that you actually achieved something by defeating those epic bosses.

~ Other:

- Another brand new future of the map is the music, yes the map has its own unique soundtracks for most of the regions and places on the map, making the gameplay feel even more real.

- There are some cool events as well, like festivals for example.

- Max level is 400 and every hero can evolve as well, giving them brand new and enhanced spells and skins.


Overall this is a Must Play map in my opinion, i had a blast playing it and i still do! :infl_thumbs_up:

i cant play in classic graphics w/o getting ticked for losing the original so i play on reforged graphics a piece of advice spend time getting to at least lvl 35 in hunting asap it will help quite a bit for every hero that does not have a self heal

Does anyone know how to kill the music playing in the game? I keep trying to do the command but i don't know what im doing wrong. i will put it in then i think it works because it goes quite then suddenly loud blearing music again. i dont know if im doing the command wrong or what.

I like how the game starts with the background story, though an actual scene wouldn't hurt. You know, like presenting a background scene, landscape whatsoever while the story is being told would be really nice (personal suggestion). There are many hero types in your game, which I really like. I chose the Arcane Mage to play Daemonic Sword. The first thing I notice is that his avatar icon doesn't resemble the actual model which is a blueish bloodmage with lighter hair. You can simply make an icon for it with the Button Manager.

The spells seem really nice, I see you've worked on them as well which is a good. The surroundings and the map itself is really nice. You combined default assets with custom imports and the scenery and environments turned out good but there are some parts where you should try to modify them a bit. For example, I honestly don't thing that a high quality tree model gets along with the ugly lordaeron trees. (Personal suggestion again). You can talk to local citizens, shoppers, etc using the Dialogue Button. I really like that, it gives that rpg feeling. The first really cool thing I noticed was that Amanita Virolia thing dropped by the boar I killed. The dropped item triggers funny thing on the hero xD . I saw items being actually attached to the hero once I purchased them. Awesome thing again, I love the amount of work you've put into this. Those zombies coming out of that household was sort of weird though I believe it is heavily fitting the actual story of the game. A bunch of knights came right after to kill them. The magic pens used as well can be attacked and destroyed, not really much of an issue but you can make them invulnerable. I ALMOST DIED IN THAT CRIMINAL TAVERN xD xD xD, I thought it would be something cool once I go inside but surprise, time to die. I left immediately almost on the brink of death. The backpack of the hero can be spotted moving right behind him. I believe you can make it not look like that, like being targetable but not visible at least to the naked eye. Check how Spasmaster made the backpack in Sunken City, is really nice. Love the inside areas. You can also purchase properties around the whole map. The Undead coming out of the blighted earth attacking you then going back like you didnt even see them felt a like a cool thing. Despite having some "uglish" part around the map and some minor but really minor things which can be modified as I suggested or even let them be as they already are (again I say, is my personal suggestion), this game offers a really good rpg experience and the neat stuff you implemented in it and the huge amount of work and dedication honestly make me rate this to the maximum and I really believe it should be marked as DC.

Awesome work! I intend to play a lot more this weekend. :D

Hey Alexen, thank you for your response. I will try to address your issues for sure. The Intro is for the loading however I love cinematics and will try to implement that in the beginning of the game for sure! Daemonic Sword ORPG is in a big transition phase at the moment. Daemonic Sword is now currently in LUA thanks to TriggerHappy. Which will allow the Game to do some cool things much easier. The game however still has some glitches and some errors in it because of that and some of the new systems that are being added currently!

I can tell you are playing in Classic WC Graphics, because of my Painted Arcane Mage :). Currently I design the game for Reforged, so the graphics look a lot better with Reforged. I did have to remove a lot of Models because of that. However I try to design for the best of both worlds.(It is very hard however sometimes) but all models are SD and Reforged and Classic can play together in LUA without any desync issues.


Before Reforged I used all Classic Custom Models, now with Reforged I have been slowly importing the WOW of HOTS models instead of HD, however I am currently working on a Cosmetic System where you can choose between a couple of models when you are able to purchase your house. This brings me to your backpack Issue. Now with Lua you can use the hotkeys f2 f3 f4 to Select, Hide and switch backpack Inventory.

However there is also a reason for your backpack to follow you and be shown. This is because you can eventually purchase a cosmetic backpack and change the model of your it to over 80 choices. You can make your backpack look like a penguin, dragon, dog, bird, spirit etc. also with this cosmetic feature you can also turn your summons into that Model. (If you are a summoner this is very fun and entertaining.) (It is my wc3 version of a mount)

As you progress you will get some more awesome spells every 15 levels. Currently I have Hired Mythic to remake pretty much all my Special Effects so prepare yourself for some really amazing stuff coming actually sooner than one might think!!! I am glad you took Arcane Mage as it is a flashy spell caster, and pretty tanky. A very fun choice, and named after me :)

The Item System featured on the Multiboard is fairly new and I have triggered every item you pick up. There are a couple of TT issues from balancing and changing everything but I fix stuff very fast and have a very amazing community helping me find glitches and fix them asap. I have also hired someone else to create specific item attachments for each item. (For now I pretty much use all the Hives Resources to fit the description as best as possible)
Daemonic Sword Features an amazing item drop system, the charge is usually determined by your Hunting Level. (Multiboard)
Different units will drop different stuff, each Boss drops unique item loot as well as Boss Loot. There are 100s of items to Enchant, Fuse, Forge, and upgrade with all those systems and more to do so.

You can purchase a house where you do quests to save addition items, I am currently working to implement the codeless Save system. When this happens you can save a whole bunch more. Until then there is a Bank on the right side of Ramoria where you can save an additional 18 items with charges. This comes with its own Code which you can paste in right after the Hero Code.

The Criminal Taven is also hard I agree... This is what I call Floods and you can find them and use them to level up quicker. Essentially its a mass amount of units you get to kill! There are 60+ Flood locations in total. The zombies were another "Flood".

The Main Quest will restart each time but with high levels, and -skip you can rush it much quicker.
The Guild Quests will however save with your Hero (However I am still creating them)

After years of awesome updates and development, receiving a lot of love and becoming one of the coolest custom games for Warcraft both classic and nowadays Reforged as well, the moment at last has arrived.

This map gives me the chills, the new implementation of stats attributes is just awesome. A super immersive rpg that's updated constantly, I just love the classes, set concepts and professions!

So I came across something. Well fairly cool but simi buggy. If you use reforged and the female demon hunter skin then pick the demon hunter hero you turn female demon hunter. This is awesome Seriously I love this. But the buggyness comes from the fact you still have your normal demon hunter blades then when you pick up weapons your now holding the normal hunter blades and now a sword or what ever in the hand to. Personally I hope you only fix the blades not going away. I love the fact my skins work. Well this is the only one I know but still.

Please check the "Recommended Version" tag before downloading the map!
This map ONLY WORKS for Warcraft III: Reforged Classic (1.32.10), so there is no way to play this map on non-Reforged WC3.

Review has spoilers (for those who didn't play the map yet)

Game starts on a good note. Many different mechanics, custom stats, professions, dungeons, secrets, guilds and etc by which you get overwhelming at first.

But more you play, more flaws you see.

There are some of them:
  • Game gives you incorrent information or incomplete one
    • Stat bonuses like "Potion effectiveness" don't have increasing value. Because of that it is unobvious how effective "Lifeforce" stat is for example.
    • There are bash and knockback stats. But since I never saw my hero knockbacked any enemy, I guess that is the same thing? But some items like divine hammer have both stats. And the multiboard again have only the knockback stat.
    • Not sure about other spells, but for example General Avatar tooltips says it has two effect: reflect spells and knockback. But when you use it, it doesn't increase values in the multiboard. Same goes for passives: i have item with 5% critical chance and 4% from passives, but multiboard only shows 5%.
    • You can't tell when autosave is working, because it didn't tell anything when you press on its button.
  • Though there are many professions, not many are useful. For example dunno why would you forge anything, cuz items before lvl 100 you can buy, and after 100 you mostly get items as drops. If there would be items, which you can only forge, then forging would make more sense.
    Same goes for alchemy: no point to use it, since you can just buy potions.
  • Dungeons are kinda boring. In most of them you just need to press a switch in one part of the dungeon, then in another and etc until you get boss key. So it is not hard, but quite time consuming. For example key dungeon, which also have big corridors and rooms, in which are only several mobs, so the dungeon looks quite empty for its size.
  • Same goes for bosses/mini-bosses. Most of them you can just right click, because they don't have any interesting mechanics. Some of them have mechanics, but they are quite annotying.
    For example big infernal before diablo: he doesn't do any damage, but you also can't kill him fast, since you have to press switches and wait until new switch become available.
    But more annoying thing is Lazar boss fight, where again to deal damage to the boss you have to throw ice cube at him, which he can reflect with a chance. Boss itself is weak, so you just wasting time trying to throw cubes at the boss and hoping he won't reflect it. Adding to that, boss arena have quite strange exit placement: right on the right side of the ice cube you need to throw at the boss. So you can accidently exit the dungeon. That happened to me when I was making a walkthrough of evil main quest and killed the boss. So i didn't pick up quest item and dungeon reseted. So i kinda rage quited at that moment, because again dungeon and boss are quite annoying.
  • Main good quest started fine, but ending feels raw. Final boss fight with evil daemon, which should be super epic, again was just afk right-clicking. Iirc daemon just summoned some stuff and other than that was just auto-attacking.
  • Many useless drop. Like high level dungeons drop 20-75 lvl items or bosses for example have spiders eggs as drop. (why not potentia stones for example which you often need?)
    Note system is nice, but again seems like drop is random and again high lvl mobs drop notes which you could acquire at the beginning. So you have to read every note, for which you have to drop an item from the inventory every time, which is annoying and in the end i was just ignoring them.
  • If i'm not mistaken, there is no end game content. I was level 184 general, completed all temples, heaven, hell, key dungeons, colosseum boss and soulless boss. And seems like there is no much to do on higher levels, like sure I can farm some sets, but why, if there is no a hard high lvl dungeons anymore. There is also new profession on max lvl, but again, no point in acquiring it. Perhaps would be better if you would acquire it sooner, like on lvl 150 or 175.
  • There are guilds, but seems like their quest lines are not finished yet.
Things i liked:
  • Music was nice.
  • Same goes for some spells visual effects, but I guess Vinz is Vinz.
  • Guitar mechanic was fun.
  • Stat system, though most of the stats felt useless, because many of them have very small increasing value, like iirc for only 2% crit chance you have to spend 1000 points. There is also elemest system, but didn't pay attention to it during playthrough, because not that you can easily change your build for boss weakness or have needed element resistances, because i almost didn't saw items with such stat.
So overall map has potential, but for now feels kinda raw.

This RPG has been through a lot of update since it's start.
I started playing it again recently and the new UI really got me good while keeping the wc3 feels !
It's still getting updated frequently and the map author take in suggestions on discord and is really reactive on critical bug fix.

The codeless save system allow an easy switch between chars so you don't have to restart.

Dungeons have small mechanics and hidden switch that are required to complete but I do find that better than just killing 1st,2dn,etc bosses to access the next area.

Smithing/Mining, Alchemy, Fishing jobs feels more like side mechanics as DIY if you don't want to spend gold because 80%+ of the content can be bought.
Compared to that Speechcraft seems to take age to level up while being required for music/enchant/teleport, you end up over leveled with strong dropped items that you can't enchant without taking much more time increasing speechcraft.
Overall, jobs doesn't feel required but removing current looted/bought items to make crafting a necessity would require more balancing.

I think that even with it's current flaws, it's a good map that only need support and appreciation to keep getting better.
I'm awaiting the mounts and cosmetics updates ardently.

And lastly, If you can manage to regroup the whole community whose still playing wc3 you may be able to use the 20 available player slots :)

If you are using Classic Warcraft 3, then the problem is obvious. This map has been updated for the latest version of Warcraft 3, which is Reforged.
The main problem is: Most maps and campaigns tend to crash the whole gameplay with new Reforged patch (1.33 or 1.35).

"Daemonic Sword" is a massive Role Playing game where a player challenges itself on building good gear, exploring distant lands and same goes to accepting quests.

"The idea of bolstered attributes and objects on a hero is too much and leaves me on awe for this rpg is quite different from others with a decent and balanced hero characteristics, although the game is more settled for a few players rather than a full house since the file size of the map is big which might ruin a 10 man gaming in problematic lags."

Please don't make a double posts in this forum. You won't get further replies if you do this again.
I really suggest checking the "Recommended Version" first (which is in the map description of this forum) before downloading the maps.
Maps that are updated for Reforged will only work for the very latest one (which is, as of May 2023, 1.35), so it won't probably work for Classic Warcraft 3.

Hello everyone, I am a a returning player for this map and even warcraft as a whole, wanted to retry this map for some nostalgie but it just won't show in my maps folder while other maps show normally, i have the latest 1.35 patch and it still won't show, tried renaming it and some other fixes online but still no progress, anyone has any idea about what i can do? much appreciated.

Sounds like your map is corrupted. If this happens, please re-download the map.
Another possible reason is you have a bad installation of the game. The only solution for this is to re-install the whole game.

This game is amazing, I played 2 months straight not stopping. My favorite thing its guitar profession, its a unique aspect that I never saw on other wc3 game.

Different UI are flawless and item system its pretty good too (like diablo 3, 13 pieces of gear, even with sets)

I would like to find a bit more of balance, or a bit more of intermedial bosses. There is a huge gap between Ice Crown Temple and next 2: Black Citadel or Water Temple. With almost all heroes you need to reach 125 to get BC or WT, but you can go on lvl 50 to ICT with no problems (even we could go lower, but its required 50 to enter).

Knowledge points needs a revamp or something, after you get an additional skill, there is nothing to do with that beyond some cosmetics, and professions its a unique and good system, but after you get a char on 200, you will need to start from scratch with next char, and to that point, profession points starts to be a pain (we could share a lvl 25 on all professions at least for all new chars).

New develops about dragons aren't good for me, but its just my own personal opinion, since I just dont like 3rd person POV and hates navigation with arrows. I tried and even I cant see a map, its just a mess to me.

Daemonic Sword is the only reason I even have Warcraft 3 installed anymore. I've played it for many years now and still love it every time I come back to see the new updates. I would totally buy this as a standalone game if it were one

there is one map where there are a lot of creeps for pumping the level of the hero ... in the beginning of the game there are many heroes to choose from and 2 swordsmen run around the map ... one swordsman, the swordsman of the forces of Sven and the swordsman of darkness ... they also swing on the map ... there you can raise level 100 ... who knows this map? I just can’t remember and find it on the Internet ... a map in warcraft ...a lot of heroes to choose from...I'm ready to pay those who say the rpg map

Ehrrr... Something happened to the intro in the last update... It bugs out and instead of the usual display of protagonists, there are only portraits now...

It was intended.

hey, I could play ver 3.42, but when I downloaded ver 3.5, It won't show the name of the map in the selection, please check, My version is 1.35 btw

I am unable to see this map along with several other custom campaigns anywhere in my Custom Campaigns menu. Only a couple of my maps will load up (about 3/20 work) and this is one that will not appear on the list. I have tried to get this to work on both TFT 1.27a AND Reforged 1.36 anyone know whats going on?

Works fine for me on the latest patch. Try without Reforged graphics on. See if that works.

I switched to classic graphics and The list for custom maps is still mostly populated with "Just another Warcraft III Map" including this map.
This seems like an issue that might be fixed by renaming the file that is unrecognized but I cant see any obvious difference between the maps that work and the maps that do not work, concerning name or file type they seem the same.

Hey. I guess you are having the map put in C:\(or where your OS is)\users\username\Warcraft III\Maps\ for the latest version or from 1.28 onward, and not in the game's directory as for older patches like 1.27 and below.
If you did everything right, I guess you could try to repair the game or do a fresh reinstall.

Did you mean to say "C:\users\username\documents\Warcraft III\Maps" because I have been putting online custom maps in that folder, but for custom campaigns I have been using C:\users\username\documents\Warcraft III\campaigns.

Also, I have already reinstalled everything, I fully uninstalled every blizzard game and all of their residual files along with the battle.net launcher hoping that it would fix this issue and nothing has.

Campaigns use the file extension .w3n while maps use .w3x and .w3m.
