Hi guys,

I promise i have read the relevant tutorials before posting this, (such as Mr bob.s cinematic tutorial) and i have tried configuring things myself to fix the issue, but i have been unable to find a solution to my issue.

Basically, i always assumed in the transmission trigger in the cinematic category, the "add XX time and don't wait" means the the line will show for XX amount of time then the cinematic bar will go blank. But now i have been facing issues where this is not happening, and even when i have messed around with other triggers but to no avail. Would anyone be able to explain how to configure the amount of time lines will be "spoken" by characters during cinematic mode?

For example in this trigger, i am trying to make the line only last 0.25 seconds because he is supposed to get interrupted, but it goes on for like 5 seconds.

Modify duration: set to
You need to use set to, if you want to specify the exact duration. If you use add/subtract this value is added/subtracted to the duration of the sound and then used as the duration for the transmission.
The duration of "No Sound" is considered 5 seconds by the game. So in your case you would have 5+0.25 seconds.

Oh thank you Jampion! I did not even realize there was a way to change the add into "set to". So i should just set it to -4.75 if i want my speech to last 0.25 seconds. Can i ask then, if i add a wait 5 seconds after the transmission trigger (not the wait in transmission, the normal wait trigger), does this it will not play the actions following the transmission for 5 seconds, but the dialogue will last 5 seconds regardless?

Also thank you wc3neverdies for replying also, i am grateful to you as well.

no sound has 5 seconds duration.
The total transmission duration is calculated as:
- add: sound duration + duration
- set to: duration
- subtract: sound duration - duration

"No sound" has 5 second duration and you want 0.25 seconds transmission. The most logical thing to do is using "set to" with 0.25, but if you really want to use add you can also use add with a duration of -4.75, or use subtract with 4.75.

This duration determines how long the transmission is displayed in the game. Now if you additionally select "wait" the game will also wait this time. It's the same as if you would put a wait directly after the transmission with the same duration.
