        Some directions
        1) Create your own stdlib repo by forking from wurststdlib repo
        2) Create a new branch in your newly created repo and name it somehow
        3) Do your additions, commit and push
        4) Go to wurststdlib repo, a button will appear to make a PR with your recent changes
        5) Write what you want to say and post it

      Hey there, I was just rethinking about that OE/GUI Charge spell I was working on (ONE YEAR AGO???), and revisiting the thread. I haven't opened it back up to see (lots to do), but might be doing so in the near future so I wanted to be prepared.

      I wanted to first of all thank you for all the help. When the time comes I might be having the thread re-opened & revisiting things.

      But SECONDLY and the real reason I am messaging you... Something you said I only just *now* really read & understood, and it's pretty awexome:

      I'm always trying to find ways to avoid the issue of Buffs-Not-Stacking, and this is brilliant! Simply by leaving the data fields alone, a negligible duration (if I understand you correctly) *should indeed* ensure no issues! That's actually quite useful for taking advantage of buffed abilities for targetting. : )

        Buff stacking is a real problem. Especially if you like in my project want to keep all standard abilities and add new ones for a new race.
        With this method you can at least safely use these abilities as dummy abilities.
        The best method is to make the buff have 0 duration. You cannot achieve this with the OE, because it would be infinte duration. But most (every?) buff that is applies also triggers a damage event. With a DDS you can then remove the buff as soon as it is applied and have 0 duration.

        Oh man, this so hard... Actually that realization was instrumental in my decision to restructure all my custom races; originally I planned on adding Jungle Trolls, Naga, Forsaken, Dwarves, Goblin, Pandaren, (maybe Nerubian, and/or Dalaran) to the existing 4 standard factions... However, the buff-stacking issue almost single-handedly fouled that up, lol.

        Anyway, I've split everything up. However I figured it was possible to make at least *1* custom race addition that could 'step around' the buff-stacking issue... And so far I've been successful.

        Have you looked into Anitarf's "ABuff" system on wc3c.net? It allows for any number of additional buffs, IIRC.

        Haven't looked into that system yet. I would probably write my own buff system, if I need one.
        You can have stacking buffs by using auras, however autocast spells (and AI) will not interact with them (spell steal and abolish magic)
        and the buff icons won't fade, if the buff will expire soon.
        So it's not really useful, if you want to preserve melee mechanics, which is most of the times the case if you want to keep the melee races.

        It was about making a spell with charges and the cooldown would indicate the recharging of the spell, but you could use the spell as long as you have enough charges.
        It's very tedious to set up and only works for no target/instant cast abilities, because the base spell needs to be immolation or mana shield to get around the cooldown.

        The story plays directly after RoC. Archimonde is dead and you are playing a group of remaining demons. So no it's not the typical demon story. But the story is not finished yet.

        I am also working with demons right now. They are more the villain though, but they are also remnants from a demonic invasion. Just this time, it is like 10000 years before the happenings of RoC, after Sargeras invasion. :)
