If texture issues persist after the above steps, try restarting the machine.

This runs Reforged under Steam's emulation layer
Unzip the Asset Pack as you would a zip file into the retail folder within the Reforged installation directory
The tricky part is finding your "home" directory where you put your custom campaigns. In one user's case (agibsonccc) the filepath was the following:
/home/agibsonccc/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2542504305/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/Warcraft III/Campaigns
The way proton works is you have steam and then an "appid" followed by a "prefix". The appid is basically a mapping to a "game" you specify in the left side in steam. That's wine's root directory. drive_c is C: then from there the paths should be the same.
If texture issues persist after the above steps, try restarting the machine.
Launch "Wacraft III: Reforged" game
Go to “Single Player” → “Custom Campaign”

There are quite a few bug-ridden meme games that were made great with modder, Skyrim/Fallout 4 is the first thing on my mind.
We cannot provide this campaign without Reforged, it's just how it is, luckely Reforged sells at half the proce of a AAA game, so if there are enough good projects for it, I would hope the initial nay-sayers would at least get the game for mods.

Regarding donations... we are trying to set up some method that would work for us and those who want to support us.
One issue is the cuts all those platforms take, let's say some crowdfunding platform takes 5% + 0.3$ each donation, transferring it to another bank or paypal would yet again cost ~5%.
An option would be to perhaps directly make a paypal account for donations, so less money would disappear in those cuts, however there would be no automatic transparency, like money already acquired compared to crowdfunding sites. However we could pay voice actors directly from paypal...
What do you guys think?
Do whatever is necessary to keep you supported. If the cuts from said companies are too much then skip them. You guys have put a tremendous amount of effort into this, years... This effort should not remain unrewarded. It is by far probably the best custom campaign and it shows true potential. In order for you to grow, purely from a business perspective, you need to be provided with the means to do so. Same goes for delivering better quality content as you mentioned - paid voice actors. With the proper set-up you can not only grow but expand this to a primary source of income and ... your job. With passion behind it, which you CLEARLY have and the results show it, you can achieve great things. Progressing needs good grounding and if the financial cuts are hindering you, then avoid them as much as possible.

This is less feedback about your game and more of an observation of the original game. I can see why Blizzard removed oil in WC3. It's basically a sort of invisible timer and once it runs out you can get stuck in the map and have to restart, even if you have a big army waiting.

I have exactly the same situation here and my game version is Warcraft.III.Reforged.v1.35.0.19887. After clicking on "OK" in the message, at the end a critical error message appeared and the game closed. Can someone help me please?!

And even though I downloaded CSW_Tides_Of_Darkness_EN.w3n for the first time today, I just downloaded it again to test what I read above, but I still get the same error.

Guys, I noticed today that they changed the update date for the game download to the 10th, so I downloaded the file again to replace it with yesterday's to see if it fixed the bugs that I reported yesterday at the start of the campaign, but not yet. I don't know if it's really an update, because so far they haven't reported a hotfix, but I tried it anyway...

I have a question: Do you plan on adding the Alliance campaign from Chronicles of the Second War: Tides of Darkness? Also do the history of the first war in Warcraft 1? Or something else from the Lore, like the War of the Ancients?

I am very grateful for the creation and dedication of the developers for this Mod! You guys are exceptional!

hey guys! Loved the preview! Is there a place where I can take a look at what the Asset Loader does? I've got MacOS, and obviously can't run the *.exe file, but if I can figure out where you're unarchiving the assets to on Windows, maybe I can figure out the proper placement for them on MacOS

I got most of the assets to work, but i can't see any buildings. I've tried every solution on here and nothing has worked. any ideas or am i just not going to be able to enjoy this campaign?

I think they already said that 4 campaign were on the run, orc and human from wc1 and wc2, only time and patience is needed :p They speak about Draenei stuff etc so... maybe war of the ancients but that's more work on years again ^^

Hey guys, I downloaded updated .w3n file and replaced it in Campaigns dir. I lost all save games and game progress. Is it possible to unlock whole campaign to start where I finished with old file ?

Did... I do something wrong? I've installed this game and when I play it, the orc models all appear untextured. Except Gul'dan, he's fine. But all the other orcs just have the red parts of their armor showing correctly.

Edit: Okay, I've downloaded the asset installer and pack, but when I open the installer, it doesn't have the "load resource" button. It just has "load CSW", "start game", and "delete CSW". And when I click the first, it only accepts .w3n files. (Selecting the campaign file appeared to do the trick, but it just made the game crash when I tried to run it, until I deleted.)
i have the same problem i don t know how to fix it

Hey guys! So I know that MacOS isn't supported, but still - I was trying to run the Asset Installer on macOS for hours now, and I finally succeeded (in a way). But it's telling me,

"This is not a valid warcraft III folder!"

upon launch. I am 100% sure that I'm running it in the MacOS equivalent of the Windows installation dir (which is "/Applications/Warcraft III", and has the "Warcraft III Launcher.app" directory).

What kind of files does the Asset Installer look at? Can I trick it somehow to think that it's in the right directory?

I finally figured out all bugs on graphic issues.
I played some missions and this is my review.

By this time, any member of Blizzard might have been watching this materpiece.
This is what global fans of Blizzard have been wishing to encounter.
This is what Blizzard should have focused on.
But you Blizzard totally devastated the dream and hope of your fans by making stupid Reforged edition.

where do I download patch update, I am stuck on the broken island mission with a bug that makes it impossible to win that mission(rend is gone) I can see the patch note that it is fixed but do I need to download the whole game again.
sorry for dumb question

Great work guys. If you have problem with Chapter 12 and 13 because Rend is missing in missions I found solution>Find your folder with save files (documents/BattleNet/your ID/campaigns/custom/mod name/) and delete Campaigns.w3v, CampaignsInfo. It worked for me, maybe also try to reinstall mod.

Sadly I'm unable to install the assets on Mac through Wineskin.

Just letting you know that in case the campaign could be expanded to Mac that would be amazing, thank you.

When i open the game ang click on Custom Campain the game crashes, what did i do wrong ??
 
Was Alextrasza intended to become invulnerable when you attack her lair ? If it's a spell, it's not wearing off.
Seems like she had no place to land, she is ivulnerable in the landing process cuz if you accidentally kill her before she lands - cinematic will be failed.
Load the save and let her land to proceed to bossfight phase 2

DOwnload the latest campaing file patch and start form act 3. Rend diapearence will be fixed if you re-play mission 9 in new patch

Why doesn't this company work for me even though I have the latest version of 1.36 and everything is fine with me, what do I need to do to make it work properly because every continuation of the company is in the company folder where it is needed and in an orderly form according to version

Hi guys,

I have a bit of an issues with models as seen in the screenshots below both cinematics and in-game.
Any idea of what I should do?

I had a same case before but these are all fixed.
Delete all your files of asset installer and asset pack including downloaded Chronicle file.
Then start again from the beginning as the install instruction says.

What you have to make sure is you must run the CSW installer.exe by run as ADMINISTRATOR.
This is primary. Then, instead of rebooting the computer, try to turn off the computer and turn on again.
After that do the same thing as the instruction says.

Hopefully this might help you.

Hotfix v 1.02

  • Zeppelin price increased from 500 to 1000 gold
  • Zeppelin build time increased from 20 to 61
  • Zeppelin food cost increased from 1 to 4
  • Pillage rate nerfed

Mission 9:
  • Hold the line defeat condition changed to be more reliable (This Time its fixed, seriously)
  • Autokiling zeppelins that reach cinematic area of Tyrs Hand

Mission 11S:
  • Decreased bounty for killing units
Just wondering.
If there is a Hotfix, then do I have to uninstall all CSW files? or Is there anything that I need to do in order to make this Hotfix working?

Bug: In the mission of the Lost chapter, "The siege of Zul'aman" with Zul'jin, during the second and third stage, the elven waves remain in the portal areas and no longer advance, except sometimes the heroes or a few troops.
Other bug (minor): Amani Dragonhawk have breath of fire (125 mana cost) but don't have mana for use it

Edit: I don't know why, but reloading a save allows you to debug partially the AI

also, it makes the mission too easy to allow mines to be laid in the elf spawn zones

I heard about a bug with Rend. For my part, my hero is still there, but his life and his armor have received a small "op" bonus.

(I wondered why he was so tanky xD)

Yep the issue was that he was written in the memory in mission 9 with bugs. It caused either null ot integer overflow

In the secret mission I found four rings and I'm stuck. The gate ask me to bring the rings who are supposed to open the path but I don't find any other one. Anyone can help ? It's kind of frustrating to be stuck in this campaign because of an rpg mission...

Rings are dropped by Dwarven Lord Skeletons - they ither lay in toombs or sit on chairs

When Zul'jin is about to kill Lireesa Windrunner. His Portrait is Gul'dan.
I have a proposal for Chapter 14, P3 (Attack on Lordaeron) - to strengthen the enemy's air defense capabilities. We just need to be able to easily destroy the enemy with the dragon all the time. The previous levels are undoubtedly very grand. As the final level. His process is quite boring.
Do you have any sponsorship channels? I wonder if I can sponsor you.

Yeah i have the same issue. Only four rings, nothing left to kill. There are two dwarfs sitting by the last gate but they cant be attacked.

I'm having the same issue, if there is a fix for this I would love to know as I want to be able to play the campaign but I cant even click buildings with this.

I had a few crashes in the first two missions (2 in the first mission and 1 in the second, all at random times), but so far (omw to the 5th mission), the boat/water missions 3 & 4 didn't crash at all and were played smoothly all throughout. Great campaign and good experience so far!

A tip for peons, while they are "in advanced building mode" their gold gathering is reduced to 35, from 125 gold...switch them back for "regular" to gather quickly
