Alright, so I downloaded the Windows Client for Warcraft RoC and TFT.

I mean Why do you need the Windows Client?

Do I need to create a Campaign's Folder and move these into that folder or where do I download these files? Maps or where?

Don't you have a previously made folder named Campaign? If not, create it. Well and if you have 1.29 version then go to Documents<Warcraft 3 < Campaigns. Copy the files there.

Yes, people will still see your campaign and its development, but they will have to search for it instead. And ask an admin to delete it, simple as that.

Also, I have played 3 of the chapters, kinda didn't have the motivation to play the rest, but, I will review the only one that is finished, which is Chapter One.


The difficulty rise is neat and certainly does make you more careful, however, so many runes of rebirths its not even funny. However, the units just seemed to have been randomly placed where there originally was a unit. Also, the neutral hostile and orc units just...have abilities that don't make sense, most of them at least don't. Troll Headhunters having Life Drain? Grunts having Thorns Aura? Generally, this map certainly does have potential to be a good enhancement of the Tutorial and Orc Expansion Custom Campaign. I will fully rate this and say my thoughts once this is completed.

Hmm, Actually let me tell you,
1. I added life drain to troll headhunters because as they have low hit points, they will be able to regenerate themselves more easily by draining life. Okay, I will update this and make spell description somewhat different so that it makes sense.
2. I thought The runes of rebirth would be fun to the players as they would have the opportunity to control neutral hostile and see the new powerups added. And also in Chapter 2, it would make a lot easier. Okay, I will remove some of them in the future update.
3. I could not understand what you mean by "The units seemed to have been randomly placed where there was a unit."
4. Did you play Chapter 3? What bugs did you find upto now?
5. And by the way, the only one finished meaning? Do you mean you have finished playing?

I haven't played it fully, as I said, I played 3 of the chapters. The runes of rebirth are fun, sure, but literally like 90% of creeps have a rune of rebirth on them. While, it is rewarding, it can also make it easier. And by what I mean with the units seemed to have been randomly placed, is that. "Hey let's make a circle of units that are pointing in I don't know what place around this guy!" I am picky, I don't know if other people are bothered by this. And I have played Chapter 3, well, the human A.I doesn't work, AT ALL. The only thing that did work was well: Spell usage and resource gathering. That's about it. Again. I did not play the campaign fully, I just lost motivation half-way through.

You mean the human A. I. doesn't attack? Actually, as it was the demo version, Blizzard maybe has reduced the difficulty. Because in Chapter 3 I did not alter any of the AI functions. I just added units in the base to make the siege part harder, and also adding the new passive ability "Reformation" to Demolishers. So you can see I tried to balance everything.
Well, I think I will delete the Chapter 3 enhanced and remake it.
And I don't see why the facing angle matters for a unit. One will not see it unless he uses the vision cheat because on approaching, they will turn to attack.

Okay, whatever, I will try to make a lot of changes in the next update. And I promise you the human Campaign will be far more interesting.
One thing, it would do a great help if someone does a youtube video on this campaign as I will be able to see from the perspective of the player and understand what needs changing.

Well, I told you that I will take at least one month hiatus after completing one campaign. So maybe in the next 5-7 months I will complete upto Orc Campaign? Though this is just an assumption. If I complete faster, good for you! And I also have to pay attention to updating this one. Although I have not started anything, I am planning on starting tomorrow. Stay tuned for my latest uploads and updates.

For a new map maker, you take a very mature approach to criticism. I am quite impressed, especially when lately I see many people reacting so negatively to other people's negative evaluation. Keep in mind abishkar, because enhancements of the original campaigns are so common, there will naturally be higher expectations of the enchancements since people are literally uploading their own versions weekly. Below are 2 such enhancements of the orc prologue in the past 2 weeks alone:

A possible direction you might want to consider is trying your hand at creating something original that is not based on the original campaigns. Keep in mind doing so will require far more of your time, but in the end you might find the artist inside you will be really happy at having made something you can call your own. Regardless of what you decide, try to make the motivation for making campaigns your own enjoyment, and not other people's opinions of your work.

I was not angry, nor mad. Nor i am now. Your campaign lacks logic as well. You did not update the campaign, you messed it up! The bugged cinematics prove it. Fourth mission also does not start. Just a black screen. Thrall does not passes to next missions (your hero does not save, there is a lot of triggering here, to do that). Why would he, anyway? Random tomes, strange abilities, overpowered.
Random units placed on random places. Everyone can do that. But why would they?
And as other people said before, you are just editing something, so you can get the feeling that you created something. But you created nothing.
Wanna do something? Start from a scratch. It will take you some time.. ahem.. a lot of time. For you.. alot.. but you will do something YOURS eventually. Don't just edit something or copy someone's work. Even my grandma can do that. Use your mind, you have to think, make something new (as much as it is possible, for there is a lot of content in the Hive already), yours, then people will recongize it.
But in the end, you don't even have to do it, only if you want to. You wrote all those projects for time ahead. Why?
Even i have a project of my own, most of it is complete, but the more i was working on, the harder it got.
So yea, it will be a struggle, but create something yours. People are more likely to remember your own project, than some edited campaign (it was edited so many times already), from someone.

@Venkolm and @tulee Yeah, I have realised that I f##ked up totally in this campaign and that I may not have the potential in myself to make a good campaign. After all, Campaign creating is not at all easy.

I will leave this wierd but wonderful world of wc3 modding for good, and will ask a moderator to delete this bad campaign (maybe the worst in the Campaigns Forum). What grieves me is that apart from this Enhanced Project, I also had a wonderful story and great ideas in mind, because when I posted it on YouTube, it got many likes. Perhaps I will never be able to accomplish my dreams, so I thought I would post it in a thread some day, hoping that some day some skilled creator would make a campaign out of my ideas.
Well, however I will still be on HIVE, and maybe play custom campaigns, because I love Warcraft 3. It was a gem to me when I was very young (I started playing it when I was 6) and it means the world to me even now. I hope Blizzard will create WarCraft 4 someday (Not like WoW but like WC3).
So goodbye friends, I wish I had some good knowledge about triggering.

Don't get so discouraged man. Most people, even if sounding a bit too critical just want to help you improve it. And I believe you can, in time make it a great campaign.

Anyway to my review:
Chapter 1

- The tips are unnecessary in my opinion. This is an enhanced campaign after all and we should expect new things and surprises.
- Thrall's skillset is a bit all over the place. Moonson and Aid of Lava god are fine since they represent fire and the element of air, in a way. You can make his other 2 skills represent water and earth. That way we have all 4 elements and a nice shaman like skillset, which would fit Thrall.
- Troll headhunters having life drain doesn't make too much sense. An ability that makes them land a critical hit or one that inflicts a damage per second effect would be a good replacement in my opinion.
- Grunts having Thorn aura doesn't make sense.
- The Blood Curling Growl's hotkey is Q
- Remove the random Firelord. Normally if you'll add some easter eggs move them to a location the player can't travel to and can only reveal through abilities like farsight.
- Placing random strong enemies just to make the chapter harder is a bad idea. Instead, you can try and add more areas of exploration to the chapter. Expanding the map size to add a small bandit camp or a cave with dragons in it, or a cave with ghosts in it, that give good rewards, would make people like it a lot more.
- The 3 Little Timmies are unnecessary.
- Giving the hero some kind of undroppable artifact item with a little flavor text on it would be a good idea in my opinion. You make his stronger and give him more of a personality with the backstory written on it. Thrall is a very recognizable hero, but it still wouldn't hurt. Using this method if you're going to add never before seen heroes would really give them a nice boost to their character development.

Chapter 2

- The tips are unnecessary.
- Calling players noobs just insults them and makes them turn off the map.
- Having a random Granite golem and red dragon in your base as an ally doesn't make sense.
- Why does a random rock golem attack your towers and then runs away?
- The same things I said about the strong enemies in chapter 1 can apply here.
- You have the Berserker and burning oil upgrades yet can't train demolishers or troll headhunters
- The pork store is a bit too op. It's like roughly 3 farms + fountain of health at the same time.
- Having 2 pork stores on the other side of the map isn't very practical.

Chapter 3

- Both what I said about the tips and harder enemies from the last 2 chapters can also apply here.
- Ogres attacking you while you have barely prepared yourself is unfair.
- Berserk warriors destroy your army like nothing.
- Changing abilities like that isn't a good idea.

Chapter 4

- The chapter begins with an error message and then black screen

Chapter 5

-Thrall suddenly has his default abilities.

This campaign needs a lot of work. I wouldn't recommend you quit on it. It will become good in the future, once you learn the editor a bit more.
Also, it's very important to test chapters before release. If you can't beat it yourself, no one else will try to.
I even admit i had to cheat a few times.

I advise NOT to quit making this campaign, as it has its own potential, all you have to do is try and fix the issues we have brought to you. We are bringing you criticism, we are not hating on your map. For a first map, its a decent try, but I most certainly recommend you read some tutorials on how to make things work properly!

And I do have a youtube account, but I do not use it for walkthroughs, nor do I have the plans to actually start making a youtube channel just due to my voice being so child sounding and rather annoying.

2. Well, yeah, about that, as far as I can remember from my WarCraft lore Knowledge, shamans do not have mention of using the elemental of water. They are used by Archmages, and not shamans. Correct me if I am wrong. So Shamans use elementals of Storm, Earth and Fire. So in that case, I have Storm (Monsoon) and Fire (Aid of Fire God). What would be a good spell for Earth? Maybe Earthquake? And tell me which spell I would replace.
3. Well, as I said, I gave them life drain because they are very weak and focused down by ranged units very quickly. So they may use Life Drain to replenish health quickly. Okay, will be removed. I am planning to add a new troll unit to the orcish faction which will have Life Drain and Heal.

3. Yup, That is another crazy bug I cannot solve. Can anyone help? The Berserk Warrior sometimes does crazy 150-160 damage to a unit, while sometimes it does 90-100 damage. I have checked the Attack 1 and 2. He has only Attack 1. And the issue is not with armour because Chaos Damage does full damage to any armour.
4. Actually, Thrall had no Ult. So I gave him the Starfall ability so that he can attack the base more easily.
Chapter 4:
1. What type of Error message? Okay. Will see to it.
Chapter 5:
1. Yup, because I did not enhance Chapter 5.

The statements written in Red are needed reply. Okay, for you and Jaxximus, I will not quit working on the campaign. I will make a redux of this campaign, so when I upload it to HIVE, I will delete this campaign. Because, it needs many changes. By the way, I did test the chapters before uploading it, not all of them though, only Chapter 1 and Chapter 2. I was able to beat them. It is okay that you cheated, because I myself use cheats, except whosyourdaddy, thereisnospoon and greedisgood. Because they spoil the fun. But it is okay if you are feeling frustrated. Well as some WOW abilities suggest ( riptide, healing rain, tidal waves, healing tide totem) they do use the element of water. Not offensively though, only for healing.

Yeah, that would be a fine replacement.

I get your idea, but you have to take into consideration that troll headhunters are just spearthrowers, not warlocks or magicians, so giving them an ability that sucks the life out of a unit makes very little sense. The ability would better fit a troll witch doctor or a troll spellcaster.

Yeah, it sounds better. Though just as a tip, normally units that give auras should be your ''mini-commander'' in battle, the one that leads the charge and inspires the troops. So something like an Orc Warlord. Grunts don't fulfill that requirement since they're your normal front line troop.

The problem is that you can't upgrade to a Stronghold or Fortress which is a requirement for the upgrade.

I did defeat them. The problem is that the chapter is already hard enough and a random ogre attack is unnecessary.

It doesn't display any text actually. You start the mission, get the error screen and after that, it's a black screen.

It's great, but has some bugs:
For example, in second chapter, there is a Berseker upgrade, while Troll Headhunters are not trainable units and since it requires Fortress in order to research the upgrade, it's an irrelevant upgrade, whatsoever. Troll Headhunters don't have a mana regeneration. Also, there are Burrow/Tower upgrade in War Mill and the second and third tier items in the Voodoo Lodge, which also require Stronghold/Fortress upgrade, while upgrade to Stronghold/Fortress is unavailable.
The same story goes to third chapter (which I am currently playing) where, beside the story being fast-forwarded (which you explained), there is Troll Batrider as a trainable unit, which requires Fortress in order to be trained, while the Fortress upgrade from Stronghold is unavailable. Shaman unit has all 3 spells researched already, while in the Spirit Lodge there are still upgrades available for purchase to upgrade Shaman with the spell (Lightning Shield) that they don't even have, since they have 2 custom spells which replaced the original ones (Lightning Shield and Bloodlust with Mana Simpon and Mana Burn).
In first chapter, just north of the Orcish base there is a Firelord hero whose purpose is unknown. He is not the enemy and does nothing and after being killed still does nothing - doesn't drop any items, nor does it give any quest, so it has no purpose of putting him there. Also those "Cheese" items does nothing (or they do, only I didn't find their purpose yet ).
At last, all the chapters are selectable, even though I didn't complete them yet. Were the chapters made to be selectable on purpose? Also, after completing the chapter, I haven't being redirected to the next chapter, so I had to choose any next chapter by my self after being brought back to the chapter select screen.
That's all of the bugs I've ran into for now. If I ran into some more while I play the third and the last two chapters, I'll post a comment about it. By the way, I liked and enjoyed all the custom things that were made in the campaign so far, including the Runes of Rebirth. They make the game more balanced and fun to play.

There is still much to improve, it is a very ambitious project, because you are trying to improve the original work of Blizzard, and that is not easy at all. As a fan of creating content related to Warcraft III, I know that this has taken a lot of work and that, at least I value it.

I hope you update and do not get discouraged, as you are fixing the bugs and polishing the details, the campaign will be taking shape. I will download it again when you have updated to see how it progresses.

Okay, so I played the campaign, and... this is not good. I'm going to explain myself by going from chapter to chapter. So... here we go.

Chapter 1

> Thrall's moveset is pretty cool, if a bit odd. Monsoon? Summon Lava Spawns? A Howl of Terror?
> Why are there so many fucking enemies?! There are Ogre Lords stacked unto each other because... yeah, that's fair.
> I love how the Narrator still talks despite the fact that this campaign is unfairly hard

Chapter 2

I'll be honest, I barely played it. I just quickly looked over the map with the reveal map cheat and busted a gut at the sheer number of units there. There are just so many units, and I wasn't really willing to build up an army just to throw my units over there.

Chapter 3

I'll be honest, i didn't try out Chapter 5 at all. After Chapter 4's... episode, let's call it, I gave up and needed to type this out.

If I were to describe this campaign, it would be the Warcraft 3 equivalent of a BS ROM Hack. It's unfairly difficult and poorly set up that I almost thing they made something so... godawful. I can only recommend this to people who are really into difficult games, and even then, the broken state and rather cheap ways of difficulty makes that a cautious recommend.

Also, at the risk of tooting my own horn, I made my own version of this campaign. Not only did mine have some differences to make it separate from the OG, but also added more to it by giving the orcs their own tech-tree instead of making them rely on trolls and tauren, and... you know, is actually playable and didn't have it's difficulty jacked-up to high hell.
