Black Elf Sorceress.blp

This is a skin I made cause of a contest... but it was over when I was finished. xD
So I decided to upload it here on THW.

Description: The Black Elves are a race in Keiji's Dawn of Life. Their skin is of an ash gray and their hair is black. Their eyes are of that of a demonic red glow, as they were once corrupted by a demon. The Black Elves tend to wear very spiky armors. Scaly, and mostly consists of dark iron or silver. Ravens are also a very fond theme, so they use much black feathers on their equipment. For clothing almost all dark colors are very attractive, and the lust of wearing the bones of slain Demon opponents is popular, in order to show the demons just how superior they are.

Update 1: Make the skin smoother + little more shading
Update 2: Maked some big changes and added a few stuff
Update 3: reworked her face, and her armour( shoulder, boots ) and added more Team color, made the glow much better.
Update 4: reworked her face + her eyes.
Update 5: added more contrast to the face + made the cape cleaner.
Update 6: Darkened the cape
Update 7: added more highlight's (fixed the face a bit) + lowered the eyes a little bit.
Update 8: Fixed the nose.
Update 9: lowered the eyebrow. and added some stuff.
Update 10: REMOVED those 'things' on the cape.. + some small changes.
Update 11: Fixed that weird highlight on the nose

Want to thank Misha (for help with the eyes)

So hope you like it ^^
plz give credits if you use it.

Hawkwing: We've decided to approve your skin, but we want you to continue to make changes or we may consider returning it to pending. The eyes are a rather strange shape and they are oddly defined. Also, work on the shading in the face and distinguishing different parts of it. The shading on the bridge of the nose is a bit unorthodox too. You might want to look into that.

Edit: I'm almost inclined to reject the skin, because of those glowly things you put in the corners of the cape.

She reminded me of Ironaya in a robe xD
She looks like a combination of a demonic being and a stone giant, not an elf :)

I agree with Misha. But prankly, I'll add mine:
- bad freehand.
- blurry.
- skin so rough. elves has flawless and smooth skins.
- If you mean dark elf, it isn't. It looks like an undead or a zombie elf.

i agree.

I mean.. the only smooth and good thing are her boobs 83 and they too are not much, they rather look like spheres =S

the rest of the skin should be smooth as chest area....

well yeah yeah.. chest and boobs need some improvement too.. kinda like... in between them and a bit up should be somethin', they aren't perfect spheres

EDIT: wanna moar construcive/weird comments? x3

Hehe, yeah:xxd:

I'm working on that smooth thing now, I have taken the feet and the boobs... gonna update it soon

matmat, it isnt dark elf, its Black Elf, from my story >.>
And they quite have a little war-torn skin really.

..... then there should be subtle scarrs, not shredded metal efect x3

also... her colarbone needs showing a bit... that area is... plain oO

hmm.. tip to fix the "orbs" is to smudge 'em a bit in the upper edge part. that should make 'em better. C:

The skin could definitely do with more highlights/shadows; The boobs aren't the only place that light will hit. The feet could do with more definition, as it stands, I'm not sure if she's supposed to be barefoot or wearing shoes. The hair needs work, just because it's black doesn't mean it doesn't shine (unless it's exceptionally course I guess). One other tiny thing, it doesn't look like she has any eyebrows.

It is looking good though, I like the colourscheme, as well as the story behind it.

To me, it looks ugly. As Dan said, majority of this skin looks like scratched up metal. Messy. Hmm... maybe this can help you. When I use PhotoImpact, and it's Paintbrush (normal brush tool) there's an option called Choose a painting mode, which consists of Freehand, Straight Lines and Connected Lines. I don't know if Photoshop, GIMP and other programs have that, but try to find it. Straight Lines will definately help you with straightness. You see how those white outlines on her cape are messy and un-straight? Straight Lines is the key to success! ^^
Second, maybe not so much helpful, Fade In and Fade Out! Also a Paintbrush's option, you just simply type how many steps to fade in or out.
I hope this helped you.

Rework in these eyes, for now they are strange, make like Misha said, I garantee will be heavily better. And for the robe thingie give one or another detail and be inspired by something...
as i said in PM.... the eyes need to be lowered and made more intense, while keeping that shape i made ya.
If you work in these skin this can be very usefull guy!

You mean, Girl? XD

EDIT: i just drew the eyes.... so i didn't pay much atention to where they should be...

Now, that's a lot better than the previous 2! Good job on the eyes. I still think you should work on the skin. Change it from grey to something else, like dark blue, because it looks metallic, no matter how smooth it has become.

You see that, Misha. someone like the eyes you made :xxd:
But, i don't think I can make 'em dark blue, it's after all called 'Black Elf'.

yes, the face is the problem at the moment. it looks stretched and not very natural (to me). the nose looks long because their is lighting all the way up to the eyes. make it gray like the rest of the body (the part between the eyes) and it will fix that problem. also, make the eyes less slanted and make the shade of pink slightly less bright. if u fix those, i will give u a thumbs up and +rep =D
