Hello all!
I came up with this idea about a week ago and I've been working on it feverishly ever since. This map will be a racing style game that places a heavy emphasis on terrain and weaponry.
I know racing maps have been done before and I can't say I've actually played any of them, but I feel that this idea has the potential to blow any others in this genre out of the water.

This is what I have so far:
- Concept: a racing game that I want to be a sort of cross between Mario Kart, Extreme G3, and Lego Racers.
- Physics: a sweet self-written physics engine to support acceleration, deceleration, steering, and even collision and jumping based purely on terrain!
- Controls: arrow-key driven vehicle requires no use of the mouse
- Camera: first person camera

- Homing Missile (reddish)
- Homing Rockets (spray of small homing missiles)
- Missile (greenish)
- Rockets (spray of small missiles)
- Railgun (high damage with charge time)
- Confusion Bolt (makes enemy car face random direction)
- Leech (ray that steals life)
- Goblin Zeppelin (drops bombs on first place)
- Mortar
- Local Offensive
- Lightning Shield (creates damaging electric orbiting balls)
- Shrink Ray (beam that rotates around and slows/shrinks)
- Disarm (silence)
- EMP (disables steering)
- Clockwork Procession (cw goblins orbit, then home, then orbit, then explode)
- Cluster Rockets (rockets orbit and get further away)
- Barrage (rockets just fly out and damage nearby units)
- Rear Offensive
- Land Mine
- Big Land Mine
- Napalm
- Rolling Mines
- Goblin Shredder (runs around and attacks units)
- Goblin Sapper (runs around and explodes)
- Electric Fence (slows units that drive into it)
- Oil Slick (disables steering)

- Magnetic Shield (deflects enemy weaponry)
- Orbiting Shield (collects enemy weaponry and orbits it)
- Cloaking Device (doesn’t protect from weapons, just from sight)
- Phase Shift (weaponry passes through)
- Boosters
- Short Boost
- Long Boost
- Flying Boost
- Teleport
- Forward Offensive
This is what I need:
- Someone to redo the terrain! I don't like how the terrain is turning out so far. Feel free to change the mapsize or tileset.
- More spell ideas are always welcome.
- Opinions for how to implement the weapon system; ie. use mana and have spell cooldowns (extreme G3), purely perishable items that are randomly selected (mario kart), or some sort of mix (lego racers)
