AVG have become a virus

i had it installed on my pc and it destroyed harmless files while marking them as infected for no reason. it blocked my access to it so that i couldnt terminate it. i just figured that i should warn people about it so that other people dont do the same mistake as i did.
Yeah, no, they were infected files. And you cannot terminate it for obvious reasons. Seeing as how terminating a process does not require administrative mode, it would have been a major vulnerability in the software.
