Attachment + unit Animation help

Hi, I have a rpg unit which has many animations (like bow attack and alternate attack animations) and when the unit takes an item it shows the attachment and stats correctly, np till now, however here it comes; I can't let the unit show his bow attack animation properly, he uses all kinds of attack animations. I have set the "Required Animation Names" and "Required Attachment Link Names" to "bow", as it's called in the model. What am I doing wrong? Answer is +rep of course.

EDIT:
I really need help on this one, I can't finish my map. If you find the question weird or something like that than say it so I can try to say it in other words.

He wants to change the attack animation when he changes items. If he carries a sword, he wants a melee attack animation, and when he's wielding a bow, he wants to use the attack animation used for bows.

Ofcourse 'Animation - Play unit animation' won't work, because that's only once and not equal to each attack due to different attack speeds.

This is what I got:
1. 2 units (one with bow attachment and stats, and one with staff attachment and stats).
2. 2 items, a bow and a staff, when you pick up the bow you change in unit 1 and the staff in unit 2.
This works, no problems.

The problem now comes:
I want to make the bow unit do bow animations and the staff unit do staff animations. The animations are included in the model (e.g. stand ready bow, attack bow, stand ready staff, attack staff, attack staff2). But I can't let them do the animations properly, how do I need to do this?. Maybe this will help you: the model is the human fighter from Nasrudin.

    • Animation - Add the gold animation tag to unit
switch the gold to its bow animation or better post your model here and we shall see what we can do

Well that's a good solution, if you could that do that for me I would be darn gratefull to you and +rep of course. Could you do that for:
- the attack normal animation unit.
- the slam animation unit.
- the alternate animation unit.
- the staff animation unit.
- the bow animation unit.
