This is illegal the same way that importing WoW is illegal and immoral in Wc3

again, they just dont blend with the sc2 model quality

Wait what? Did blizzard really say that?
Ill have to check hmm...

Anyway, use the previewer to get important model information. Then create a new model object in the models catalogue. Look at other units to see how its done. Then finally make a new actor and attach the model object to it (making sure the actor object is the same type as other units).

The actor events are tricky, I advise just looking at various units until you learn how they work cause they are prety logical but very flexible so can not be described in a post.

Acording to SC2 terms of use, using WoW models is illegal cause they are copywrited content. Although as blizzard owns them they might be willing to make an exception but until they publicly say so, it must be deemed illegal.

The exception is in the mapping contest they said you are permitted to use sound content from any blizzard game which would include WoW, SC1, WC1,2,3 and even D1,2,3 (whatever is available so far). Although that only covers art, there is a possibility that they mean it coveres all game resources for those games.

You are stealing them from blizzard by allowing people who did not buy WoW access to them.

Actually to access the files you need to have WoW installed, seeing as how you need to pull the models straight out of the .MPQ files.

Though you can get WoW on the internet for free, it's safe to assume most people who would use the models own the game :S

Ok firstly the wow model viewer's new versions have had a .m3 export script added to them specificially so you can use WoW models in SC2.

Secondly both that answer above and the WoW model viewer are not created by blizzard specifically. Only time can tell if blizzard will take action against art theft from their own games. If you see loads of WoW models in maps then I guess no action will be taken however blizzard should then make a series of WoW mod packs for SC2 so that people do not duplicate upload stuff (even if they are a few GB a piece).
