Let me present my new project:

Features:

+ Music, Sounds and Icons of the original game
+ Many custom models, especially buildings, made by me
+ Gold/Stone Mining, Berry searching, Animal Hunting system
+ Random Terrain system (by Amigurumi)
+ Custom Articficial Intelligence (AI) by Eccho
+ 4 Ages (changing buildings after upgrading)
+ The 4 big peoples: Greeks, Egypts, Babylons, Asian with different buildings art
(for now only one people (Greeks)

I'm recreating all buidings by merging existing blizzard doodad and building models. I've already made some icons, by cutting them off screenshots of the original game.
All units have the sounds off the original game.

I could need some help with this map

Button Manager is the best icon program on the world.

I love the game. But why only 4 nations? The game had many nations (Assyrians,Yamato,Choson,Sumerians,Persians,Pheonicians,Hitties,Chang in the first version, Rome,Palmirya,Mecdonia,Cartage in the next version Rise of Rome)
Did I miss any?

Yes there are more then 4, but there are 4 different "Building Variations"
For example: Assyrians,Yamato,Choson all have the same buildings.
But yes they had different upgrades and units, but it would be A LOT work to make all nations, I only make 4 and that's much enough for the beginning.

ya putting all the nations from AoE and AoE:RoR would take alot of time, its great to start out with just 4 starting nations, then add-on nations asa the versions goe by

Assyrians,Yamato,Choson all have the same buildings.

Assyrians have the same buildings with Egyptians. not Yamato and Choson.
Anyway, I can help with static models (Buildings).

Cool, could you remake the Granary of the Stone Age, only ingame textures and not to big in size. Do you know how to make build and death anims for buildings?

My build animations will not be so good. But I can make Death animations. I'll make the granary soon. But how did you take a screenshot from the game? I cannot do that.

Yeah it's buggy, I only got it with Windows XP via XnView (a free image viewing program).
But it only works on XP.
Which program do you use for making the models?
BTW: At the moment I work on a catapult model and the Hunting System.
I need someone who can tell me the original english names of the 4 Ages because I only have the german version and can't change the language.

I use XP. and I used my sceenshot button, Snagit, Netmeeting and a program I made myself. None of them worked. I'll check XnView

Which program do you use for making the models?

3dsmax 7, Biturn, War3ModelEditor, Photoshop CS4, MSPaint, WE and another program I made myself.

I'm pissed off, I made the whole model for the Stone Ages barracks and all was finished, suddenly my computer shut off and all is gone, 2 hours of work for nothing
I will have to remake it
My hunting system is nearly finished.

Master of Eagles, you have to take screenshot, so it saves in another folder.

Yay! AoE1 was the game that brought me into the RTS realm of gaming. I really loved the game! I would like to join the team as an extra modeller if possible. I can't animate, but I can do atleast decent MdlEdits and I'm getting better at making custom Geosets. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this map!

AoE was the second game that got me into the RTS Gamimg World.

The first one was the God/King of RTS it self: Command and Conquer

Ya CnC-Generals:Zero Hour wasnt so good : (, I liked the G.I.A Toxen General, Dr.Thrax, though he was the only good General I liked to play as.


If they do a Generals Sequel they need to bring Dr.Thrax as the main Bad Guy, he seems like the Kane/Yuri of the Generals universe

@ Gyrosphinx: That would be cool, if you made some buildings,
at first you can do the Pit of the StoneAge of the greeks.
You can just merge some blizzard models together.
But please make the roof of the house team coloured, if you don't know how to make it, just make it an own empty Material, so I will add the TC later.

@ Amigurumi, can you make systems MUI and MPI?
My hunting system is soon finished, but it needs to be MUI and MPI.
Could you do that?

I hope this is Acceptable, It turned out mirrored because vertexmodify don't know left and right, also there are some multiple materials and textures, but when I try to remove them, I only get errors, I'll try to fix it later.

OMG, this system is to much for me.
You can try, but it's not full working at the moment.
I hope you understand the theoretically idea of the system.
Maybe you can fix the system.

I don't know how to anim, but building anims is pretty basic so I'll try to make one.

I have now the main triggers.
What I do tomorrow:

• when they bring the meat back, they went to the next dead animal
• fix a problem, when I replace the villager
• to hunt a new gazelle, if the dead one hasn't any lifes left

so the next list is:

• to fix small bugs
• documentation !Only if you need one!

chilla_killa. I hope you don't mind, but I started making a loading screen. I have got just one problem, the Age of Empires logo isn't in the very middle, its slightly off to the right. Should I put the Warcraft 3 logo right above the Age of Empires logo so that it too is slightly to the right of the middle, or should I put it in the middle.

The one on the top is aligned with the AoE logo, the one below that is aligned with the centre.

The model is good, but it's much to big and to high poly.
It should only have maximal 100 kb and max 2000 polies.
The loading screen is cool, I will use it, but do I have to convert it to blp?

Agreed. Many of the triggers (mainly the hunting ones) are being disabled on my Editor. Are you using the latest update Amigurumi?

Hmm, I don't know, but I send him the same map (via pm) and know it seems to work.
maybe there was a bug with the download link.... don't know.
