This is an amazing model and an even more amazing story! Kinda glad this didn't make it into reforged now, even though it should have, feels like a hidden gem here on the Hive.
You can do it yourself, very easy with War3ModelEditor and MdlVis.Awesome. May I recommend adding a version with only the alternate form, without the original DH? Also, could you maybe fix her tail so that it's not floating?
...I'm aware I can do it myself. You can do it yourself, very easy with War3ModelEditor and MdlVis.
If you're having trouble can't opening it, then use ReterasModelStudio to convert the model to SD 800 first.
The icon is already ingame since it's a TFT beta asset and they forgot to remove the icon. I believe it's BTNVegeanceIncarnate or something like that. I guess you could recolor it to green if you wanted.Do you have female version icon of metamorphosis?
Yes. This model is a fix for the Female Demon Hunter skin ("classic graphics") from the Reforged game, so it's not in a format that works on older patches. Even if you reformatted the model to the old legacy format using Retera Model Studio, you would also have to extract the texture for this model from the Reforged game and convert it to the legacy format because the old game wouldn't be able to load the Reforged texture either. You may have noticed that I did not upload the texture files for this model, because they are ingame textures on Patch 1.32.I can't open the model with mdlvis, war3 model editor or warcraft 3 viewer, why?
Why do they need fixing? What problems do they present ingame? There are a lot of issues that needs fixing up.
It's mainly for making the model as small and optimized as possible. Why do they need fixing? What problems do they present ingame?
Sure, but we can do much better, can't we?Attached is the unmodified ingame model from Reforged, and it has all the same problems, though. So, if our standards are not the contents of War3 itself, then do we offer a Hive download of all the War3 assets in the correct format (to start from) since War3 isn't?
Because it is highly based on ingame resources such as from Frozen Throne BETA, and because it styles after Blizzard's own work when they did things wrong I left those things wrong, so I probably won't update the model, so the reviewer is accurate in saying that I didn't address their criticisms or something like that probably. I keep busy. This upload was mostly as a record of my past work for me, and not some effort to impress random passerby's looking for models.2) Why is this resource set to "lacking"?
Not until you backport all the necessary stuff using a program like Retera Model Studio, but obviously if you reformat it then the same art would work on 1.31 surely. I might not bother to do that for you, though, since I have already created and published a program to allow anyone to do this.1) Will this model work on 1.31?

or whatever it is, and add a soundset copied from demon hunter to use the new files, then assign that to your unit. Note that adding a sound set only works when modding your game client itself, so that might be hard on 1.31 since the 1.31 install uses the Reforged game storage format so its harder to hack your install and add a soundset than it would be on 1.26 or 1.29 or something. You could try local files but I forget if that works on 1.31. I guess most people making maps would tell you to just overwrite an existing soundset, like maybe replace Demon Hunter, since you can do that from inside World Editor.Local files do work - and thank you so much for such a lengthy and comprehensive explanation. Have a wonderful day!You would need to
- reformat the MDX from the 2020-2022 format (MDX 1000) into the 2002-2020 format (MDX 800). The formats are different but look the same, so this is slightly confusing. This upload is in the Reforged format, even though it is an SD visual. But you can save the same visual in Frozen Throne format using Retera Model Studio. When we open the file, change the version number, and then save again, my program auto-magically formats the file in a manner corresponding to the version number in the header. So by changing that 1 field and resaving, my computer program will backport to 1.31 art format for you
- you would need to export the texture file from Reforged game, which is a DDS file, and reformat it to BLP or TGA so that it would load on your 1.31. You can probably use Retera Model Studio to do that as well
- for best results you would probably want the soundset from Reforged. You would want to use a program like Audacity to change the FLAC files from Reforged into WAV files that will load on 1.31. Then you would want to edit

The alternate form of this model is really nice and has the original warcraft 3 style. Not sure if it works on 1.31, but i have been using it for my map since Retera shared it (my map runs on 1.26). The model just needed to fix some transparent triangles. That was easy for me, and probably easy for most map makers at this point. Oh and I only use the alternate form, so I also removed all unnecessary stuff in the model.1) Will this model work on 1.31?

This made me sigh a bit inside. So, actually, the alternate form was originally authored as one of the Dreamspawn heroes for a Hive Techtree Contest, and was later intentionally merged into the female demon hunter. It originates from the Spirit of Vengeance TFT Beta model, and that model had no alternate form despite inheriting obvious designs from the Reign of Chaos demon hunter model.Oh and I only use the alternate form, so I also removed all unnecessary stuff in the model.
Thanks for the info, I didn't know about that. This made me sigh a bit inside. So, rather than having to delete mesh on your side, if you literally want the original model that was merged into the Reforged hero as its alternate form, that original model can be found here if you scroll down to "Hero Broker of Illusions". The color is different, but it's literally the ancestor of the file attached to this upload.
