open magos and model, and in 'node manager' right-click on empty to create an 'event object'; doubleclick it to open and choose a SND type. (sound) From there you can choose which one you want to play, from attack effort to death sound. above you have 'event tracks' rightclick to add a new one, which, in this case, should play on the beginning of the death animation. which you can see the numbers of in the sequence manager of magos. press ok, save and test.
it's same-ish with particles, rightclick on empty to create a 'particle effect 2' but.. editing it is lill complicated to explain in one go, so.. what you can do is to open another magis, use it to browse the effects in the MPQ, then open the desired particle of that effect, open the particle on your model, and just match one with the other, then save and see if it worked and if you like it.. mind you that you have to import the textures for the particles so they match, before you copy the particle data, so be sure to choose particle emitters wisely :b
'particle emitter' (first) I don't recommend, because they chuck models and not just textures
