So I'm kind of working on a small Altered Melee map.
1v1 grudge match style setup. Main bases on the right and left sides, with a couple off-shoots, like an area with a large amount of Lumber, and one with a large amount of Gold. Some creeps to kill, and items to get, and a massive, desolate wasteland in the middle, where both teams are meant to meet up to fight.
It's meant to be all out war, with a couple exceptions. Not far from each base is a Fountain of Health, with a hidden path, that both players can access later on, to go around the Battlefield. Guarding the only available entrances to the Battlefields, are duos of powerful Heroes with unique attacks, built to ensure that only Tier 3 armies and top level heroes can advance.
It started as a simple 1v1 melee map with a long path between the two bases, with the intention that, one way or another, both armies would be very strong when they met, with plenty of little tactical things available to help smart players turn the fight to their advantage. But I like the idea of a Boss duo that only a couple Hero Killer type heroes could fight without their armies.
