I started laying down some basic shading and highights to get a feel for the wrap. In some places, like the chest and tail it is fine, but in others it just stretches or displaces the texture too much. The face is the worst right now, as it appears you just used a left-right projection of it, which works bad for the front. His wrists and elbows also look weird since they do not seem to be wrapped in a single piece, and the orientation of the leg wrap still puzzles me. It would be great if you could redo the wrap - if you have access to 3ds max 2010 or above, i suggest you watch some tutorial videos on Pelt Mapping. If you don't feel like doing this i can unwrap it myself, but that will take some further time. This is a really ncie model and i would like to see it finished.
