Young Link

Alright here is Young Link. He is based off the Ocarina of Time version. It was requested by: DarkAngelAzazel & kimpakim7. I got asked to make him by both people around the same time. For different reasons but none the less here he is. Hope you like it. Credits are always nice but as always with me not required. If you have the courtesy to give me credits then I thank you though. Please rate and give comments to improve it.

Update: There isn't really an update to the model yet. But I forgot to clarify this. In this version the sword and shield are done by Jo27killed. He made them as attachments. I was told that it was okay for me to use it on my model as long as I gave him proper credit. Please note though that because I feel that they should be improved I am just going to make my own now. So in the next version they will be different better looking.

Update: Texture improved(?), Texture now all in one file instead of 3. Other modifications done to make it fit nicer. So what do you think now? Is the new texture look for better or for worse?

Update: Okay its now updated. I did make a version with Rounded hair like the mods wanted but it made him look like a preppy rich kid. In Ocarina of Time his hair is kind sharp ended like mine anyway. Skins approved ect. Hope you like the update.

BlinkBoy: The improvements are good, but you still need to reduce the shield's polygons and smooth the hair(Recalculate normals to it). That should be all before approval.

Very nice, But there are some flaws.

1) The shield. Way too many polies.
2) In the Death animation, he falls through the floor and his corpse appears even before he decays. Just move everything up by like 50-90 during that animation (using bone_Root) and work on his geoset anims so that the corpse appears at the right time.
3) Three skins for a relatively simple model. Maybe you could merge Korki Sword and Deku Shield?

Otherwise, it's an excellent model. Just try to fix that decay bone, that's the only severe problem.

Yeah I always try to keep things low file size. I hate importing large models so glad you like it. I know the face needs improved I'm working on a new skin though in which all the textures will be combined though so it soon to be better.

Could you make Link aswell since some people always ask it.

Um you want the adult/teen link the older version right? As DarkAngelAzazel said there already is one on here but its got a really big file size and not so great animations considering it uses the Big Goron Sword as the default weapon and the only way to get the master sword and the Hylian shield is uses most often you have to use the defend skill which isn't all that bad except it makes him walk in a constant crouch which is odd. So yes after I finish up few other things I'm working on I could do that. Gotta finish Zelda, and Ganondorf first. That and improve my sonic model and do some fix ups on Piccolo's animations though thats fix is low priority at the moment to me. (Sorry DBZ fans.) I also have plans to get a Meta Knight model done and thanks to Dan Van Ollus being willing to answer a few questions I've had on modeling I think I can get it done and do a good job.

Yes agreed as everyone else has said I do need to improve the face. And like I said in this post previously it will be worked on.

There already is a Link model... just search for it.

Hmm putting his shield on his back will take some work. But i can say that it may eventually get done. I'm still working on making better animations. Haven't quite delved into completely custom animations but its starting to make mor sense all the time. When I learn how to do them good I'd be happy to do that for you. And of course one of his stand animations will be him drinking Lon Lon Milk. You said you wanted thinner legs? Why do you want thinner don't you mean not so thin at the bottom?

also he is amking some models of gannondorf and zelda!!!! and i helped him whit some textures that i dumped!!if u want zerox, i can help u whit the face of young link, to unwrap him face and make he look like in the screenshot ;D

This version here doesn't contain the help with the textures you've helped with but the next version will. Um I haven't started Ganondorf yet but I have good plans going on how to do him. Zelda is nearing completion though. Mainly I have a few more torso and arm details to do and her head needs some slight fixes. But its going good.

mmmmm no, for now all good (at leats for me) XD another wonderfull idea that i whis to make but i are very busy whit my models of pikachu and kirby, its make some atachments as, the boomerang, the color tuncis, etc... well i think that can be useful for the model!

Um JDT Its had a lot of work done on the animations since the freaking child model has bone names that just don't match up. I spent about 4 hours working on the animations for this going through and editing footman animations to fit my liking and work with my model correctly. Things such as geosets only being visible when they should be. (Do you like a dead corpse following your cutey Young Link around all the time? I didn't. XD)

Well Ghost is right....

When the Game starts Link has no sword and no shield..

You have to find the kokiri sword and buy the deku shield to enter the Deku Tree....

And if you touch fire in the dodogons cavern your deku shield burns away....

IF it is not too difficult that would be a great model....

Well and another thing...

Ghost already knows it but i need the Dota spell (clock) hookshot for my zelda game... And if anybody is able to make that spell for me I would be very happy...

NOTE: There is a spell called meathook in the spell section but that't not the one I need.. (it pulls your target to you and i need it the other way round...)

There is also a spell called Hookshot in the spell section but that's the same as meathook...

nice job. it looks great only thing is the bottoms of the legs and a few animations that i don't particularly like, like attack 2, and all of the 'defend' animations. in attack 2 his sword is pointed up, like hes trying to punch but you geomerged a sword in (i know you didn't). and the defend things his shield is kinda in a strange position.

also those are not the only uses for a weaponless link model, the biggest reason (as far as i can tell) is that link uses every item imaginable not just a sword, in fact his sword is probably used less than the bow in Twilight Princess, my point is if you have an attachment model for your items you don't want a sword sticking through them.

P.S. thank you so much for succeeding, by making him left handed.

This Owns tbh 5/5 ^^ could be useful for some Zelda RPG or some ort of Zeld Spinoff ^^ But It look awesome

Also, legs are really fat as already said.

Dont get me wrong, its very nice, but i dont know if its usefull like this, because Link can put the weapons on his back...so if you ever played Zelda, its not usefull at all, a link like yours, even if it looks good.
