It will be like steam, where you start bnet.exe in order to run games, like what happened to STEAM. However, you don't pay steam.

I hope we don't have to pay for this.

Unfortunately, you'll have to, because the account allows you to play WoW.

The message posted at www.wow-europe.com however says that the prices will remain the same, 15$ for 3 games per month! Now that's more reasonable!

However, there's the triple threat; you get banned from one game, you get banned from them all =\

Only those 3? I thought all games connected to BNet would get an overhaul so all would run through it, Sc, Wc2, Wc3, D2 aswell? Because if that was the case, I am sure a lot of people would pay, but if just 3 games, I am not as sure.

And are you certain the payment is like that, you pay for one, you get them all? Sounds odd to me. I haven't read the linked site btw, so if it is all mentioned there, just CnP it in instead of telling me I'm retarded or something :p

It doesn't say you have to pay for a Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3 account on its own however

This could tie into that Battle.Net upgradey thing they had though, such as sharing achivements between games. For instance, poopsock enough in WoW and you might get something special in Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3 or something. Maybe

Yes, they said in an interview(click) that SC2 and D3 will still be free but there will be pay type features(like, making removing the size limit of maps when hosting?).

I can imagine it'd be like this, each account will have a "flag" or "check" or "status" which says whether it's "WoW" enabled or not.

If it's yes, then the player could play WoW.

If not, the player can play Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3 free.

Don't be pessimistic people and don't be quick to say "they're making cashing in!" every time they announce something except announce it a little vague(trilogy, shared battle.net accounts, etc).

In terms of trilogy, they said in an interview the trilogy is just another way of saying "Starcraft 2 has two expansions, not one". In terms of the shared battle.net accounts, it's basically the same thing as they've been doing with Starcraft, Diablo 2, Warcraft 2, and Warcraft 3(I think) accounts, the exact same account can be used for any of the games.

They're just adding WoW to the list.

I hope we don't have to pay for this.

More then likely, you can make a new account, and you can only play the games when you register them, and for WoW, you would have to pay for that, and its tied to your account, they won't have that for other Battle.net games, they won't do that, they won't make much money off of that, not very many will play.

Keeping it free for battle.net would be best, if blizzard starts that and it somewhat succeeds, that will be the start, and all other companies will start doing that. That my friend would be a bad thing and the beginning of the end of RTS online gaming.

And guys even if D3 and SC2 will cost ot play online... They will make it mainly SP too, they won't make it so you can only play online for a RTS and D3, thats just dumb.

Wouldn't put it past Blizzard at this point, and from what I'm hearing its leaning towards you /will/ pay for one account ($15 a month) to play ANY Blizzard game online, but you have to own it to play it.

I'm sure there is a lot more too it then whats been said atm. We should wait and see, because no one is right on theories atm, because we don't know yet for sure. Of course by the time they do make it official it will be a lot different then we expect.

Blarg, if D3 and general B.net will cost money I'll offically start hating Blizzard, no matter if they're awesome.

Hopefully they'll make it so that server changes and stuff like that cost money and not the b.net service itself. Hopefully.

Mine is already merged. I think the battle.net idea is a good one, although it's basically steam on the internet instead of a program.

I don't think they will make us pay for battle.net. Although you might want to get those pitchforks ready just in case.

For creating, it says nothing about playing games online, but they'd be dicks to fool everyone like that.
