Where does drain life attach?

I have a custom model that I downloaded that uses the drain life ability. It is a flying unit. The model has no attachments (though I know how to put them in).

My problem: the drain life lightning bolt originates above the unit's head. I want it to come out of the unit itself. When I change the unit's flying height the lightning always appears over its head.

Is the drain life lightning ability attaching somewhere? Can I put an attachment into the model so the lightning comes out of it? If so, which attachment should I use?

You have to change the spell start point. It is somewhere in the object editor, just above the model file settings.
