what's the relationshiop between ARMOR and damage?

hi all,
i did some tests , and result shows as below:ogre_datass:

1)Crusader(Ar=0) , HG normal attack cause about 210 dmg
2)Crusader(Max-geared) HG normal attack from back cause about 210 dmg
3)hunter(Ar=0) , HG normal attack cause about 210 dmg
4)hunter(Ar=29) , HG normal attack cause about 210 dmg

=>don't boss attack regarding heros armor? or they has amazing arp?:ogre_rage:
or dose dmg decrease form armor exsit only in fight with creeps?:goblin_jawdrop:

5)Crusader(Max-geared) HG normal attack from front cause about 175 dmg
=>20% block (20% decrease dmg):vw_sad:



Please incorrect me ~
Creeps attack me:
Physical dmg = (original dmg - armor)*(100-shield block)%
*lowest dmg =1 , cant be <0
Magical/elemental dmg = original dmg * (100-resistenc)%

Bosses attack me:
physical dmg = original dmg*(100-shield block)%
Magical/elemental dmg = original dmg * (100-resistenc)%
 
I can't check it now because I don't have access to the map file currently, but I'm pretty sure the hill giant does not have that much ARP. But I might be wrong. Maybe compare it with other bosses? Armor works the same for every unit in the game, so it's very unlikely there is a bug just with a single boss.

=>
Q1: the difference in (a)(b) is the 20% shield block,
116/159=73% ,why not (100-20%)=80% ????

Q2: (HG dmg - my armor)*(100-20)%block=> (212-78)*0.8=107 ,
why dmg is 116 in (b) ? does HG have arp about 10 ? or is there some magic/element dmg with HG's normal fist ?

Q1 : maybe bosses really got 10-15 arp.
Q2 : or maybe im wrong.

The damage reduction of shield block is applied before armor rules. Which means that the equation goes as follows:

[raw damage] * 0.8 - (armor - ArP)

And yes, those bosses have a mediocre amount of armor penetration. If you consider roughly 20 ArP, the above formula returns exactly your recorded damage values plus/minus a slight variation.
