Hey guys.

Ive been checking out many maps here on THW, and i saw quite a bunch called AoS maps. I would really like to know what AoS means, as the only answer ive found so far was it was some sort of map, which were very popular.
So please, what is an AoS map? Hows gameplay etc etc.

Thanks for your time :D

AoS stands for Aeon of Strife, which was the original map that spawned that style of maps. You have two teams, each with 5 heroes (usually customized ones) and one computer player. The computer players produce large numbers of units and send them at the other computer player. The heroes have to help their computer player win, and must deal with opposing heroes. Most maps also allow you to purchase items, mercenaries, etc. Defense of the Ancients (DotA) is similar, but usually focuses more on killing towers to gain ground than just out-right defeating your opponent.
