Great,great,so far we have some of the models and other resources,lets search some more.And I'm gonna keep some evidence,so far only Blacksmith,some units and Obsidian.

Hermit, yeah, I have done so too. When the beta came out it got the name Warcraft_iii_beta.iso
All those links pointing towards the file direction is gone :/ Sites are broken and such, and well, it was over 5 years ago.

Maybe you found something else?

AntoMarc: Indeed I already knew about that one. I tried to install it, but well it requires a Beta cd-key. Besides, you have to have the tft beta cd (iso) to install it with the beta models. Shack mate here :/

Well I be damned those are great! Those blizz jerks dumped soo many good models.
We could ask some modelers to redo these models.

Ah,I think that Blizz made those icons way ahead and submitted them in Warcraft and some in WoW.


How come the obsidian was in beta ,but not in RoC original?

And how come some icons are considered WoW-ish,when they were firstly made in Beta?

Hermit I think I misleaded you at the obsidian model. It was not created for warcraft 3 beta. It was created for the TFT beta, but redone later as we see now.

wow so wish they'd kept the ambiance of the previous betas! It looks so much more like warcaft2 and by that i mean much darker and atmospheric. There are some amazing models there, its a crime that Blizzard havnt released them, realy want to get my hands on the undead crouching dragon (the beta frostwyrm i think).
Of course some of them look abit rough around the edges but the game looked like it had alot more character then than it does now, but then Blizzards artistic direction has changed alot now *sigh*

Well,I could only find pictures about warcraft and Eccho shared some files that he found!

Did you saw the Starcraft_Beta pictures?

Yeah Rui, currently to get those beta models of awesomeness we have to find someone who has the warcraft 3 beta... but everything appears to be lost :/

All links to the beta are gone too, either changed or broken.

Im still looking, but I think the hope is lost soon.

I saw the ranger icon around, it seems that icon, and many of the fancy ones we see today, such as that tornado of malicious spirits, and others, were from the BETA. I knew Warcraft III players didn't have the 1337 skill to do that ;P
