Hello everybody,as few in this world know,Blizzard didnt made Warcraft 3 RoC the first,there were some Beta versions that were released from 1999 since the very release of Warcraft 3.

The first version of Warcraft 3 was called:Warcraft 3 Alpha 1 and it had a great concept but didnt satisfied Blizzard's taste.I was made in 1999

It had very few optimizations,units were unnamed and some didnt had portraits settled,but in my personal view,I consider that the models were revolutionary.But that remains for you to decide

I apologise but there aer alot of pics,so I packed them and attached them.

October 2000,there was another attempt to create a Warcraft 3,this one was closed in the coming months.It didnt had a straight name so I named it ''The Start'',few pics I found with this game and I hope that you will enjoy these aswell.

The next year,Warcraft Alpha 2 appeared,the model issue was corrected and many gameplay issues aswell,heroes were added and a lot of things that didnt appeared in the official.Alpha 2 added a large number of heroes and terrain was slowly optimized.These pics are from Alpha 2,hope that they will saturate your thirst for Warcraft.

One year after the big release,the final version came,Pre Beta came to light and it seems to have a lot of WoW icons and things that were futurely seen in Frozen Throne,not to mention models.For my personal oppinion,I think it was the best version,but AI was not designed for this one,it is said that it was meant for B.net only.Here are a couple of screens

Now after the intro part is finished,I would like to give some personal views about these unrealeased versions of Warcraft.It seems that many good models were lost under the decision of the testers.It wasnt settled if they even had sound.

But regarding resources,many of them who we see today in WoW or in TFT were actually made in 1999 and put to ''sleep'' until used again.

Personally I really love Pre Beta,because of its originality and I consider it even better that the released version.

Anyway,I will upload some videos about gameplay and here are the ones that I found.

Agree with you,the major problem is that they changed those great models with the normal ones that we see today.

I viewed the videos, they are a bit big but they are OK. To think that heroes were to be summoned at mains >.< xD

Well the graphics were good, they could have kept the original models, but I think units with the same attack speed would be just too imbalanced and boring.

The old units look more choppy to me, but I think it would be fun give it a go, but really nothings better than the one you first played, i.e. the one we have now I reckon are best, though some of those buildings were cool like the Night Elf ones.

In the Alpha 2, the interface for the Orc Warlord and the Archdruid looked different.

They had different sized experience bars...

I odnt know,but to me,Pre Beta was the best.Did you observed those Taurens,or the fire elemental,or those armed ghouls,or the Frost Wyrms were just like Frost Dragons.

And the Dreadlord model from Alpha 1,he was sheer briliant.

www.warcraftevolution.xt.pl work same . I have found his e-mail on his blog in footer of the website click on "Website created by elzabbul" and the blog is in polish and click on "Inne" and the last link redirect you to another blog I think . He have gmail

Yea and you know... For the Warcraft 3 beta test there were 1000 selected randomly to test the beta-version if they had signed up for it.

That was 6 years ago. But then the game ofcourse spread on internet via torrents and other stuff. But now? I spent my time yesterday searching for a valid link having the
"Warcraft_III_beta.ISO" file... No-one has it anymore. We could hope that this guy still haves it. He is active on youtube so I guess he should respond.
Otherwise the game seems to have gone missing. It's not even sure Blizzard has it anymore. But I guess they must have xO

They have it,I am 100% positive

1) Those icons that you see there,are considered WoW icons,but why are they in beta 1999?Seems that they kept those icons latent for further use

2)They might have further use of it in Warcraft 4

I recently got possession of these models and thought I'd release them for the community, all in one single pack.
There are 11 "new" models, 1 icon for the Shadow Hunter, 1 .mp3 sound for the Orc Lumbermills' sound set and 1 .mp3 sound for the Theive's Guilds' sound set included within the "pack".

The model and texture files are from Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne BETA.
These models didn't make it into the retail version of Warcraft III.

the Necronage is posted on hive I have seen him but I have found ago a Blacksmith model from beta or alpha and I have recognize him when I watch a video If I will find him I will post the link here .
