Yes, it's called the AI. Personally it's depend on the race. I change formation on every wave, Once I complete my entire base construction/Upgrade/Training, It's game time!

He is not referring to the AI Editor, he's speaking of strange tactics and strategies that can be used during melee games.

As for me, I don't have really "weird strategies" as I'm a little noob in melee games :3 Does "militia rush" at the beginning of the game count as a somewhat weird strategy?

For me, there are only two types of strategies: Effective and ineffective ones.
An unorthodox strategy can be useful, under certain circumstances.

One tactic that was used against me once was with humans, quickly setting up lumbermill, altar, keep and arcane vault, rushing to the enemies' base and try killing him with mass towers inside his base.
Was a total failure, though.

About my own tactics.... I don't talk about them.

Noobiest Melee thread in the history of WC3 :D

Common tactic. That's why it has a known name, "militia rush."

Anyway, nope, got none. Once beat EMC in a tiny melee tournament on Hive over a year ago with a tower rush as HU vs UD, but that's not weird. Probably only slightly unorthodox.

But yeah, WTii's vids are great. I do watch all his custom games and custom melee map ones but occasionally view his vids about trying melee strategies.

I played over 1000 games on b.net mostly using offbeat strategies, these are my favourite ones with each race
1) As Undead, unsummon your altar as soon as death knight is spawned, proceed to build 2nd crypt and mass ghouls (most effective against elf, sometimes even used on pro level)
2) tower rush as human - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-68ofxUbXU (very rare strategy, again most effective against elf, in RoC also viable against orc and undead with some small modifications)
3) in RoC, towercreeping with orc (build tower close to a creepcamp, pull creeps, get xp&item super early) - in TFT, this doesn't work because if tower kills a creep, you don't get xp
4) as elf, uproot ancient protectors built close to enemy base and attac with them (some huntresses needed in early game)

An old favorite of mine is to play as orc, turtle up with tons of towers, tech to batriders, and go snipe town halls. This never results in a win if your opponent actually sticks around, but in low ranked games it often causes people to ragequit.
