We're starting up again and several Dev discussions have taken place already. I think this was more of a wake-up call to our members to get active and take place in chats/ideas/work!

We are still and probably always will be recruiting. This ever-growing project is always in need of skilled individuals.

We have a great website, great team members, and we still have a great chance to make a great game. I'm happy that we're deciding to not quit on this idea.

I guess you don't even need a voice actor anymore XD

(Supposedly, the reason I first "entered" the team... after the forums were released I got inactive... and somehow I never actually remember to be on the forums. Oh well.)

ANY help is greatly appreciated, Sasuhkun.
Were relaunching the forums tomorrow (or later this week if unexpected difficulties occur), so feel free to sign up and get involved. I'd love to see this thread with 100x more posts, but I'd like them to be the community's instead of our dev team's. I'd also appreciate if certain members would take community input more seriously. There's no point in making this if 95% of warcraft fans don't like the direction it ends up going in...

F***off. We're gonna do this, and you will have your f***ing alpha when we have it ready to be released.
So stop that bulls*** about "hey, you're doing nothing at all" and "this project is going nowhere", because that leaves you two options:
A) You're right and a project that would be one of the greatest and most awesome creations of the SC2 community gets cancelled, meaning that a lot of good things are lost. But hey, then you could say "I told you so", and you'll feel proud of your forecasting abilities.
B) You're wrong, but you're proved to be one of the internet's greatest ***holes.

I rarely get angry, but you guys are seriously starting to piss me off. This thread was created for the followers of the project to support us and be informed of the project details we want to reveal, and also for random project discussion.
If you want to troll and act all smart*** about other people's problems, you can go to 4chan. Turn right in the next server and cross the street. It's the website with the giant clover-like thingie.

He's saying what I'm sure is on alot of the team's mind and aiming it at no particular individual.
Basically - Telling us we've done nothing and should do something is unconstructive feedback, it's also demotivating, we want your support not your thoughts on it's chances of success.

Only one thing matters and that is WE ARE TRYING!

On a positive note I agree with fuss, all this director crap is a bit overkill.

That it is Tharkas, that it is. TWIF wants it refocussed into a primary warcraft lotd (note the dropping of the 4/iv people) though, it needs a new skin, bb tag additions and general tidy up since the update to Vb 4x made the previous stuff incompatible. Bare with me ;)

-> Speaking of which, reaps, twif, turm, everyone really. We need a new method of communication, email, the forum or something but I'm struggling to make much time for msn, the others are easier to access on the move. Not to mention now school/college etc have restarted, the time-zones are beginning to have an effect...

All talk, no do.
If this doesn't get somewhere soon, I'm going to have to go elsewhere guys, I'm sorry I've tried to stick with it as long as I can but there is only so much "nothing" one can take and for the record I can name those who work and those who don't (with proof). Don't make me do it. Just get your asses in gear or leave. If you don't do either, I'll do the latter ;)

/rant

Sorry, i'm at the library as we are waiting for my internet to reset, humans are done, will upload soon, hope laer has finished the alpha stuff of what i provided, if not, we are gonig to have to go data editor hunting!'

Edit - Grey, i am laughing at your rant.

I also need a link to the heroes thread, i've lost mine.
the techtree i made is horrid and i know it, so alpha, alot of shite is gonna happen, lets hope laer is fast :)

I am sorry twif, but I am leaving within the month, if nothing is done. Idc if you hate me, and nothing you say can change my mind. Nothing save stepping up and leading like you're supposed to. Step down or step up, your choice. But if you stay in the middle, there's nothing I can do save step down myself. Find someone else who knows the data editor. I mean well, but I...and many other...cannot stay in a project that does not exist...I am sorry...

I'm going to jump in here and prevent any potential flaming. I've talked to brigade, both myself, him and many others aren't happy with the way things are moving here.
We want this project to succeed but unless something changes, this won't be the case, making an time put towards the project; wasted time.

I don't know how to put any more nicely than lightning, if you feel leading this is too much for you TWIF, tell us and we'll find a replacement or co-whatever but the way this is going I can't help but feel like you subconsciously want/need to step down.

If this isn't the case please start making more time for this project, you promised me a tree yesterday morning, I didn't get it. Sure things crop up, but this wouldn't be the first time you've failed to deliver what you've promised.

God this must sound so harsh, bitchy and undermining, but this project needs a leader, you've told me' yourself your struggling to find time. So are we going to see some true progress or are you willing to take a backseat?

It's your project, noone is forcing you out of leadership, but many think your unable to cope. Feel free to prove us wrong.

Best regards and seriously no hard feelings whatever you decide, we all want what's best for this project!

If he resigns as director, who would replace him?

It doesn't matter, just start actually doing stuff.

You know those people that say they have cancer, get money, then leave with the money and enjoy perma-vacation cuz they didn't have cancer?

That is what this project is right now.

Do something, cuz right now your just fucking the community with good ideas, and seriously, I think we all at this point just wanna tell you guys to all screw off and stop talking about it.

I never said i was resigning, i have no idea what the hell this fuss is about, once the trees are up, and data editing proceeds, we will be making extreme progress, or are you all so impatioent not to wait a day?

we are making extreme progress now, all this fuss NOW of all times is rediculus, we have techtrees, we jsut need to do the work.

I also only said i was struggling on friday, most days i will be fine, i have time enough to lead, and am leading fine espceically now, we have made excellent progress, and all this muttering and saying your gonig to quit is reiculus, if you want to make progress, stop pileing it all on ME to do it. i have done what i am suppsoed atm, the techtree, being posted tomarrow, and now its laers turn to do his job and make progress, alpha begins, and everything is fine, what wont help is all the whining and bitching, its that that is making me tired.

in what way am i unable to cope? i've done a shitload of work, more than anyone possibly but grey on his site stuff, and taylor mouse on his models (atm at any rate, once laer gets started, we all should hove no problem fitting in.)

now lets just all stop attacking me and do our project, it isnt always my fault for everything you know, lol. i havent seen nearly as much work from some people as i'd like, be it my fault or not. if laer doesent start making the techtree when i post it up tomoarrow, then its his fault not mine, and i will need start learning yet ANOTHER skill (the data editor) along with 2d art and modeling to make up.

please, i value you all immensly, but i cant stand all this complaining about OUR (collective) slowness, each and every one of all of us could have jsut bolted somthing out, but did they? no, so lets keep our heads down and move on, and stop discussiong things, why just two days ago we were all cheery and happy, now were all like 'NO PROGRESS WE ALL QUIT' isnt that why we rallied a few days ago? to make it, so stop complaining so we can do it, it wont be done alone.

i am not saying i am faultless, but it is strange to think that its all my fault, most of you agree that most of the team is lazy.

i am also not claiming that i do all or most of the work, you have all been very, very helpful and contributed more than i could have hoped for.

i dont know what else to say, its up to you whether you think you can make progress with me.

we seem to be making hasty comments and decisions, things come with patience, not with impatience.

lets work, the techtree is in tomarrow, we make progress from there. thats all there is to it imo, thanks laer, for offering to do our data work, i really appreiate it, and look forward to discussing the tree and gameplay with all of you.

lets all team up and do this shit...

again, i dont know what else to say... its up to you.

@grey, thanks for the links.

@ Grey, Turm, Reaps, and stathis, thanks for being a great core team, i hope you want to make progress with me. we've had a
n interesting year of no development, and if you care to wait for a few hours we can all start on the alpha once laer has it done.

I'm sorry if i am incoreect or rude in the above, but some posting and communication made to me off thread made me rather angry, so i apologise before hand, i just want friggen progress, and you all post that u r gonig to leave right when we are making progress, it all seems so strange and silly to me.

I actually agree with this 100%. And this is coming from a member of the Warcraft: LOTD team. One problem is that we don't have an efficient way to communicate. Half of our team doesn't use MSN, or our forums. We have lots of people saying "this is a great idea" but almost none are saying "I want to be apart and help make this great idea possible". You can only blame one person so much. Sure, we need to have our leader online more, but that doesn't matter if we can't get people to help out.

We need to be in contact with ALL our members.

Here are some examples:

Taylor Mouse is our lead (and one of our only) 3D modelers. We have seen amazing screenshots of his work however we have NOT received any actual model files AND he doesn't use MSN or our website.

M0rbid is the same way, as with many other people. Again, I'm not trying to single these two out, but this is another big reason why we can't get shit done.

We need to work harder in staying in touch if this project is to survive. This is something that can EASILY be fixed, but if left unfixed, will ruin the team.

we need to ask Taylor and M0rbid what kind of communication is best for them (I just keep using their names because they're the first to come to my head). Obviously MSN doesn't work for us. Having half the team in discussions won't get the job done.

I'm not saying you're a perfect leader (no body is), but I too don't agree with you becoming the scapegoat for the "seeming" lack of progress. This is a BIGASS project.

I suggest Google Docs.

I actually did have cancer and have never asked for a cent. So, please, kindly shut the f*ck up and let us make our job.
If you want to provide some useful feedback unrelated with being a d*ckhead, we'll be more than pleased to accept it.
Also, through I haven't cancer anymore (and never will again, or at least that I hope), you can still give me all the money you want.

Oh, and.
@ Grey, Turm, Reaps, and stathis, thanks for being a great core team, i hope you want to make progress with me.
Through it seems I'm not part of the team anymore, I want to make progress too! ><

- I agree with Tharkas, instead of hurling abusive and unconstructive feedback, please shut up or (start being constructive). I don't care if it looks like we've done fuck all, I don't see you volunteering.

- I still think google docs will cause more harm than good

- King, that means a lot, thankyou. :)

Sorry if i am not online on MSN too much but that's mainly because my networks blocks the msn server (i think that's the problem). I can get online to MSN via hotmail but that doesn't help much since i can't get into group conversations. I am homever active... If you send me a PM/VM i'll respond ASAP (i check these things atleast 4 times a day). I am also learning modeling and it will take awhile until i can do whole animated models but i'm learning alright ^^.

Best regards,
Nara-shikamaru
