Using Metamorphosis, everything works fine except that the spell will NOT play an animation

I've spent some time looking for solutions only to find the usual (people who are asking for help with entirely different issues).

I tried making the two units dependency equivalents, but it caused an immediate crash. No error or anything at all.

Does anyone know how to make Metamorphosis play a casting animation? I could have sworn I got it to one time when i changed the tags from "uninturruptable" or whatever, but then it didn't repeat.

Um, maybe I'm not understanding something but how is the crash related to metamorphosis not having a casting animation?
Also it's not the tags you should worry about. Go to:
Art -> Animation Names

Open it and click "add string". Idk what animation you want your unit to have but let's say it's hypothetically its spell animation.
Just type in "spell" and click ok.

This field is empty by default but it's safe to assume that it uses the "morph" animation name by default.

The crash is an infinite division/product issue from the tech-equivalent mishandling.

When you say Paladins are tech equals to Archmages, that means 1 Paladin = 1 Paladin + 1 Archmage, when you do it both ways, 1 Paladin = 1 Paladin + 1 Archmage but an Archmage is 1 Archmage + 1 Paladin, but a Paladin is both a Paladin and an Archmage...
et c.

I would set a metamorphosis time on the ability and use triggers to play the animation.

I can't get on my comp right now to create and test the trigger because I'm semi-babysitting, at the moment, but I think that's the move.
