Well, you could always disable Drag-Selection then

(Add Locust
Hide the unit
Remove Locust
Unhide the unit)

Since Adding/Removing locust makes them not click-selectable and removing drag-selection would stop them from being selectable at all.

However, this would potentially be annoying if you needed drag-select for other things.

I'll try setting the selection scale to -1. seems like that would work... or it would crash it...

what do you mean disable drag selection? (If you mean what I think you mean... wow. I didn't know you could do that...)

EDIT: Setting the seleciton scale to -1 just makes it act like one, and it causes the circle to flicker (possibly because it's intersecting with the terrain.)

EDIT2: If I give them the locust ability, will triggers still detect them? (ie unit in range)
also, how do I disable drag selection?

Luckily, I don't need drag selection for anything else!

Thanks!

EDIT: Why do I have to hide then unhide them?

EDIT2: Do I have to do that constantly (???) or only at map initialization (or whenever the unit is made)?

EDIT3: Well what the hell! There's an action there that does what I want! In my map, there is only one unit I wanted you to be able to control, so I can just do the disable selection action! HAHA!
