When the unit is selected via trigger it has no abilities/movement/attack options in the control panel, similar to a Ward. It can still be issued movement or attack orders via mouse click. The unit functions properly when selected manually, just not when the trigger runs.

Thanks in advance.

Also sorry for lurking ~3 years.

Sorry, wasn't aware of the 48 hour thing.

the trigger itself works fine, it selects the unit. But the unit's control panel is completely blank when selected in this way. Where normally there would be "Attack - Move - Stop - Hold Position - Patrol - Spells - Etcetera", there's absolutely nothing, as if the unit were a ward. Which it isn't. Selecting the unit normally - without using the selection trigger, simply clicking on it - works perfectly fine.

The unit is a building used for researching, if that helps at all. And based on lack of feedback I'm guessing it might be related to the unit rather than the trigger.

Edit: Doesn't work with any other unit. I can't remember if I've ever used a trigger for selecting a unit before, but I've seen them in even very simple maps and they seem to work fine. Am I simply cursed? What's the custom script I'd need to use to do it? Maybe that'll yield better results.

Edit2:

  • Learn Nature test
    • Events
      • Player - Player 1 (Red) types a chat message containing -test as An exact match
    • Conditions
    • Actions
      • Selection - Select Learn Skills (Druid, Nature) 0009 <gen> for (Triggering player)
This works absolutely fine. :eekani:

Edit3:

You know what? The spell was in a Spellbook. I'm gonna assume that's what was causing it. So is there a way to cancel/close the spellbook before selecting the unit?

Edit4:

I fixed it. Thanks, me. +rep.
