Tournament Cinematics Collection

"Four brave knights fight for victory"

This campaign file is a collection of all my Tournament maps (2003, 2004 and 2005), as well as bonus maps Tournament Outland and Footman, which is in fact the first map I ever made so many years ago.

The maps are almost identical as the stand-alone versions you can find somewhere, but packed into one campaign file for easier viewing.

Septimus: I have view this cinematic and it was full of humor and able to give excitement to the audience, but there is a few thing you could fix to make it even more marvelous.

For a reign of chaos map, you certainly are resourcesful consider the way you utilize those sound.

I would like to give this map a Director Cut award but as far as I recall, the maps have a few typo error on it that need to be fix before it ready to be award with Director Cut choice.

I have view it and know how good it was, it have a nice humor on it along with the nice usage of the wc3 sound.

There is a few typo error, probably because you do it in such a hurry that you did not notice it. And some of the interview with those character was rather long and dull as some of it lack the humor on it.

Still, it was quite a well develop cinematic. 4/5 from me and mini-mod vote was Approve

How do u get just their heads 2 move, and not their whole body?

There's a trigger for that, I haven't touched WE in years so I don't remember the exact name. It's in animation triggers, something like "fix unit's body parts facing".

You have to specify a unit at which to look at, so if you want to make a unit look at empty space, you have to add an invisible unit there.

Oh, and thanks for feedback! I found out yesterday that the Tournaments are not uploaded here (I think there's just T Outland somewhere), so I did.

World of Warcraft is the 4., even thought it's a RPG instead of a strategy game. Doubt there will be more Warcraft strategy games, at least not in the coming time as WoW is so popular.

@Septimus and Don-Para-

Tournament 2006 aka 2007 aka 2008 aka 2009 is in my unfinished maps folder in a very sorry, unfinished state =(
I should try to finish it before SC2 comes out, otherwise I doubt I'll ever return to WC3 again.

@Restor
I couldn't find it. I've changed it to this after reading a few years old PM reminding me that I still have my christmass avatar... It's been quite a time since I left =)

@Mechmap
Yeah, I'm ready to go SC2 as soon as possible. Though I'd like to make one more Tournament and Zombie Island 2 before SC2 comes out.

@Septimus
My parents, I guess. And Monty Python helped a bit too.

@moosenoir & Mechmap
Well, my HDD is quite old, so it might explode by itself. Let's just hope I'll make more, ok?

BTW, how do the approvals work on this site? Should I wait for an admin to notice the map, or should I request it somewhere?

This used to featured map on wc3sear.ch and still is (I think) on WC3 campaigns, so I'm confident it deserves it here as well =)

Edit: Oh, it's done. Thanks! And a few typos barring it from Director's Choice? Worth fixing, give me a few days...

I believe the more new patches has done something wrong with them since some scenes don't play out well. Like when Jim Bastardos is going to kill Monsieur "Sheep" Magique, instead of attacking him, he just stands there. At least, thats what happened last time i watched.

good cinematics. 5/5

why ?

-terrain, even though it used normal blizzard elements, it was used in a way that didn't seem to boring. fog needs to be in there though...

- the idea was unique. Laughter was present ( lmao at the dumb peasent ) all in all a funny presentation, guaranteed to keep you interested.

- the battle secenes were good. the fighting was unique between that orc and footman. Never seen that done.

This cinematic campaign (lol ;D) was great, however:

-No any custom models, doodads and such.
-I didn't understand the meaning of the second bonus (was it...) stage.

But, it had alot humor in it. :) So it's a huuuuge + to this cinepaign (cinematic campaign lol).

9/10 :wink:
But without custom stuff it also tells how good you are on making something from basic stuff. ;)

Thanks for your comments!

For some time now I rarely summon the will to open the editor, much less to actually work on something. When I do work on anything, it's tedious and slow. I'm pretty sure that once SC2 comes out with its editor, it will give me new impulse to mapping, but by that time I will hardly ever return to WC3. That is why I want to finish as much of my old projects as I can in the meantime, even though, as I said, the progress is slow.

While I'd hate to get your hopes up, not long ago I decided it's time to finish Tournament 2009 (I keep pushing the year back) which started in 2006. I'm not sure if it'S a good or bad thing, but I haven't touched it, instead I started working on a completely new tournament similar to Outworld (which I wanted to do for a long time) - Underwater Tournament.

Don't expect it anytime soon and it'S not absolutely sure I'll finish it, but I thought I'll tell you that it's on its way.

Cheers!

OMG OMG OMG ITS KING KLEAR KING KLEAR I LOVE YOU! *flashes himself to king klear, only for him to be disgusted and call his body guards* I LOOOOOVVVEEE YOUUUUUU!! lol your maps are awesome btw. My favorite character out of all of them is the peasant, he owns so much. He just needs a bit...of mental help... or alot.. what ever makes him better. Hmm an underwater tournament...sounds...cold...
