So I spent all of december suffering from the goddamn swine flu.

I felt fine for all of four days before coming down with bird flu, and nearly collapsing in a store, trying to stock up on flu stuff.

Anyway, I'm kind of curious, is anyone else dealing with outbreaks like these in their areas? This has and will probably continue to be a hellish experience that I would only wish on, like, six people.

Last year in my part of the world their was an outbreak of dengue fever.
I was also infected. I was bed ridden for almost 2 months with severe headaches and joint and muscle pain. It was followed by internal bleeding and huge loss of blood platelet count. My feet were swollen and I could not walk properly. I was lucky I got good medical facility unlike the many poor in my country who were not so lucky and perished. Since then I have lost much vigor but I am glad I am back on my feet.

The experience has changed me much, which is for good, because I have become much humbler now and respectful towards the little things in life.

That was my experience.

Yes, it is horrible but its all part of life. Even through illness you can learn a lot.

Hits you like a truck?, If you feel that way I will advice you to take traditional medicine after your period of illness has passed.

Anti-biotics heal body quickly but take a lot of vitality out of us, especially effecting the liver. All cultures have some kind of traditional medicine, take yours, it will do you good and make you strong from inside and increase your immunity.
