I'll post some constructive feedback here and hope some of it is useful.
Some ideas I've taken from other RTS games:
Red Alert/Company of Heroes
- Units gain experience that unlocks promotions\levels that make them more powerful and unlocks new abilities for the unit.
- Units can enter buildings to protect themselves. Ranged units will attack with their type of attacks. This building or vehicle can acquire several types of attacks. Flamethrowers or grenades would be weapons against this, giving high damage to the garrison units and the building.
- Directional cover to reduce damage taken or make some long range attacks miss the target hitting the cover.
- Some buildings and units only function if they have sufficient electrical energy provided by power plants. Destroying or damaging power plants will paralyze those that are dependent on it.
Stronghold
- Managing people's moods. If there is a lack of food, low rations or very high taxes, it can make people abandon the base, thus reducing the population.
- Transforming natural resources. Wood collection can be turned into buildings, weapons via a specialist who works on a specific construction.
Players can build various structures for different purposes, such as extracting/processing resources, crafting weapons or acting as a means of defense. Buildings build immediately and their costs are immediately deducted upon placement, however most buildings also require manpower and sometimes resources to be fully operational. Special types of buildings are the various weapon workshops that produce weapons for recruiting various units at the
barracks.

Sustainable Economy
Not like the self-destructive economy of the Warcraft 3 races. Where the gold mines are gone, it is impossible to train new units. That game has a market similar to Age 2 so that the player can exchange the excess for what he needs. But it is never better than extracting the resource directly.
Editor
- Don't make the same mistakes as Stacraft 2 and Dota 2. Difficult editors and in the situation of Dota 2 mods broken when updating the main game.
- Provide an easy-to-learn and powerful editor like Warcraft 3 and the now-defunct and was very promising Clicli. Age 2's editor is another good example, although it is less powerful and more cluttered than Warcraft 3's.
- If have ECA (GUI from Trigger Editor) and an easy to use and powerful object editor maybe I will buy your game and modding it.
