I just started a MF barbarian. Currently its around lvl 50 and has about 300 MF and still lacks the armor and boots as well as the unpteen +7MF charms they use. For weapons it will dual throw some good eliete javlins / throwing axes for multiple 1000 damage. In the end it should have 500+ MF and combined with its 45+% chance to double loot a normal bady, will result in a few decent items I hope. Also GF wise it is pretty high, droppping 2.5K+ from hell cows and the gheeds aint even active yet.

When MFing it switches to dual alibaba blades which combined give twice your level in MF and about 4-5 times your level in GF. Ofcouce this is only used when activly looting as their damage is too low to kill anything, thus the throwing axes / javlins. Also this is designed more as a team char, it has nice warcrys and can loot most corpses that the group kills so is great in cow runs. I am gussing it will be great in chaos runs as well due to the 100s of high level corpses.

I am also planning to up some of its gear for extra defence, most noticably the gold wrap and the chance gaurds.

I will report back later to tell how this build ends up.
 
Hey, just saw the group, love diablo 2 =P

I started a Pally a while ago, Level 99. I found a stange glitch in the Baal throne room, I casted fist of heavens (or w/e its called) on one of Destruction's Minions, and it gave me like x5000 experience, it leveled me up to 98. im level 99 now. I got sick weaps too. kekeke ill post a screen of my char soon.
 
PKing is a waste of time. They lose nothing but a few seconds of time and a few hundred K gold. Player vs monster can be much more fun when you go around destroying every creature you see with a godly build that never seems to take damage in hell.

After all PvP in diablo is far from ballenced. They should reduce damages by 1/20 for PvP (especially magic damage) since then you would not die in 3 hits from blessed hammer dealing over 1K damage to you per hit (pvp reduction included).

D2 really needs a major ballence change inorder to be decent for PvP.
 
Yes, if you are playing multiplayer with people a lot of the time, use a socress or palidan. The soceress is chepest and can do nice damage while the palidan in the form of hammerdin is best PvM in overall usability and damage.

If you are playing mostly solo, go amazon, necromancer. The necromancer is the easiest as its summons deal good damage while you just stand there but it is also the slowest. Amazon is a good ballence as it has one of the strongest summons in the game as well as having grat physical power itself.

Assasin and druid can also be used to solo but the assassin although simlar in use to the amazon lacks the actual physical and elemental damage and has a weaker summon. Druid can rule normal with its summons but they tinker our near the end of nightmare and are near usless in hell.

Barbarian is usless as a first build as unless you get expensive gear, they can never solo fast past nightmare. They can be good for MF thou in groups due to their find item ability but usually that is ignored as you teleport staright to bosses to MF.

Basically, for battlenet I recomend a elemental soc or hammerdin. For singleplayer a amazon or necro.
Barbarian and druid are not useful enough to be a first class choice.
Assassin can be a first class but if it is I recomend traps.

Eithor way, you should end up getting an act 2 mercenary from NM. Get the might one if you need more damage power, holy frost if you want to weakon enemies.

Until level 13ish use trist runs to level if you are on multiplayer. Then tomb runs till 20. Then cow runs till 25 and finally baal runs till 40. Then do NM baal runs till 60 and finally hell baal runs till 99. Alternativly you can ubertrist bait but that usually is not free.
 
Just leave, badies are so weak at the start that only near then end of act 1 will you struggle if you are underly leveled.
A recomended build is max skeltons, max mages, max mastry, 1 point in res, and 1 point in revives.
One point in all curses might be useful otherwise only get up to decrepify and cast amp damage whenever you are not restoring your army.

You are after a lot of +skills, atleast 20 or more. Also an insight merc weapon would reduce the energy you need to summon constantly. Do not bother with dex and only get enough str to equip caster gear. If you have excess mana, concider getting more points in revive as long as you are hitting the revive limate.

You are after the odd point of energy but mostly vitality. Use your summons to tank most hits so do not care much about res.

Bosses may be a bit of trouble, never had to solo them so you might need to find your own stratergies for them.

I can assure you thou that the summon necro can kill hell baal, although slowly.
