#19 Today's Question If Veneficus and some other artifacts of the Holy Mother still exist, does that mean that she can take over Kaliim once again, despite the Sect being destroyed.

Answer - Artifacts crafted by Old Gods require great power to wield. Only a few people posses that power and most of them never come across these items. While the Holy Mother can influence the wielder of her artifact she cannot enter Kaliim directly, especially since the chances of a wizard powerful enough to wield the artifact, find the gate of shades and dig it up plus dispell Karolina's curse and even with all that still not be strong enough to resist the Holy Mother's influence are pretty much zero. In other words, there isn't a sorcerer alive that would unwillingly do all that seeing as how if he is that powerful he will be able to resist the Holy Mother's voice. On the other hand, there isn't a single "evil" wizard that is strong enough to do all that(retrieve and wield the artifact, dig up the gate and break Karolina's curse), well, for now at least(not meaning there ever will be, but who knows).

I got a bit of an unusual question. It's not really concerning the story but still I'll answer it.

#20 Today's Question After making ten cinematics, none of which are shorter than 20 minutes which would you say you like the best? While your skills have improved over time and statistically speaking most parts are better than the previous there must be some of your earlier cinematics that you like better than the newer ones. Right?

Answer - Well, as a matter of fact there are. My personal favorite is the Sect of the Holy Mother 6 - Black Riverside. I love the fact that when I was testing it a long time ago I forgot about the part where the woman's ghost moves away and it actually startled me, the creator. The first half of that part was simply amazing in my opinion. The second half was a nice prologue in which you relax in the comfort of Miridin's forest. Not only that but, story wise, we discover a lot of new things about Nikola, and Kaliim as well. In the end of SotHM 6, we see Richard and Karolina falling in love with each other and that part ends with a great cliff hanger when the Serpent appears and says "Everything is going according to plan."

I also invite all of you to answer this question, saying which part you liked best and why.

#21 Today's Question I've just noticed this in the 17th answer: "The leader of this order is one Rector Dux, a very old and very powerful mage, who is said to have power to create a portal to another realm, as long as it's not the realm of the Holy Mother or Naaru". Now, as far as I can remember there has been no mention of him in either series. I could be wrong though as I'm not sure what the Serpent's necromancer told Karolina in front of the gate of shades but I don't recall any mention of this ever. Is this additional information or was it mentioned in the cinematics and why can't he open portals to the realm of the Holy Mother and Naaru?

Answer - Rector Dux is mentioned in the fifth installment actually, during the seating of the High Council. Among other various magical abilities he is able to open portals to other realms for a very short period of time. A minute at best. Now, the reason he is not able to open a portal to the realms of these two old gods(Holy Mother and Naaru) is because it takes incredible power, far greater than any man(or men for that matter) can posses, seeing as how these two Old Gods are the most powerful and it is impossible to enter their realm by any other way except through the Gate of Shades.

Gods don't really have sexes the way people do, even though most of them are usually referred to as he, unless it really looks and talks like a female. The Holy Mother is called the Holy Mother because she/he/it is the Matron of the cultists of the Sect. She/he/it seems to them as a mother does to a child, which is why the cultists fight for her till their dying breath.

Well, Kaliim gods are not Greek/Roman(which is btw the same)/Celtic Gods. Those cultures believed gods were like humans, with every flaw and virtue that comes with that, only with magical powers. Kaliim gods are far from human. They have some of their traits(Holy Mother has arrogance and overconfidence for example) but are superior than men in all four dimensions.

Besides, if you recall Sect of the Holy Mother 1, the Serpent mentions that the Holy Mother is actually called the Red Devil by many mortals outside of the sect(even though after the Rise of the Serpent the Holy Mother was adopted as the official name of that Old God).

You're not getting the metaphor of the name. That god is the mother of the sect, an unholy matron that leads it as if it were her child(which it is). She obviously isn't really a mother with a uterus and she is most definitely not holy. However, she is the mother, the creator, the holy divine god of the sect and it's members, at least in the eyes of her children.

Cultists are sick in the head to start with, right? Either that or they're just greedy for power. Either way they see the Red Devil as their salvation, right. Much like Christians see God as their salvation. Much like satanists see the Devil as their God. The definition of Holy is something great, divine, saintly. Since the cultists have an opposite view of the world that's what the Red Devil is to them, a great, saintly divine being.

It doesn't have to do anything with stupidity. One of the following three things drives the cultists to consider the Holy Mother as their salvation:
- Fear. Some cult members, such as Lord Amras, joined the sect just so they can avoid dying, as they believed the saviors would fail and therefore to avoid death they would join the winning side. While they don't truly believe the Red Devil to be their Holy Salvation they still pretend they do and eventually get blinded by their new belief.

- Complete devotion. These cultists see things completely differently. Suffering and torture as character build, killing as a good thing, death and decay beautiful. Death is for them what birth is to non-cultists. Something Holy and ultimate.

- The ones seeking power. These cultists, if weak minded, eventually get blinded as well, but some of them, such as the Lord of the House of Dusk, see though the illusion and know that the Holy Mother is not Holy, but still remain where they are because of personal goals.

It's not one third because the categorize don't have the same number of people. It's not like 33% are afraid, 33% believe and 33% seek power. Actually it's more like 10% are afraid, 80% believe and 10% seek power, if that. You have to remember that many of the Cult of the Holy Mother's cultists were blind followers and even cannibals as seen in SotHM 2. Then that the cultists of the House of Dusk were consisting of humans and demons, the demons obviously being sent directly from her realm and therefore true believers as well. Finally you have the House of Dawn where Adramelech transformed all his followers into skeletons to avoid any problem he might have with his followers losing control of their emotions, or rather, acting human.

lol no offence , but to end this pointless conversation about the holy mother in a few sentences...

The holy mother is the name of the cults god. Its like saying you wouldn't call jesus christ our savior, because he is our savior ( im not relegious btw just an example )

the holy mother is the cults holy mother, because she looks over them and, in the cults eyes, is their mother who is good and holy and luks upon him/her for protection.

and to clear things up, the holy mother is neither women nor man. since it has no lower body parts >.> lmao

Well, I'm not sure if that would change anything. At the most this discussion will die out and the second one will be just as active.

Anyway I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that LP 3 is almost finished. Just two more scenes and I need to receive(and send) the voice actings from practically everybody. If I don't get any huge delays from the voice actors I'm thinking it might be released in two weeks, if not less.

Well guys, Lone Panther 3 is soon going to be released. The map itself is finished, now all I need to do is record the voice acting as well as receive it from other people. I've spoken to the voice actors and they believe they'll be able to finish it by next week so... another 10 days perhaps before you see Lone Panther 3?

On another note I was thinking of requesting for that Unofficial Hosted Project forum, but I'm not sure if it's worth it? I mean I do have a lot of side story to tell, to write up character and creature biographies but after that I'm not sure if the forum will stay active.

What do you think?

I have a bunch of tests during the next several days so I probably won't touch the WE until Friday.

The good thing is that the map is finished and I'm going to receive most of the voice acting within the next few days. Only thing that remains is for me to record the voices I'm playing and to compress and import all the voices. Suffice to say that if all goes well and I don't find any bugs the third part of the Lone Panther will be released near the end of next week. In the meantime, here are some notes on the third installment of the Lone Panther.

- The subtitle of Lone Panther 3 is "Broken Belief".

- The cinematic lasts somewhere between 30 and 40 minutes.

- This chapter is story oriented, featuring some unique terrain and additional story and lore.

- Features Reference to: Lone Panther 1 and 2, Sect of the Holy Mother 6 and 7. //You might want to watch some of these chapters again, in case you don't remember what happened in them.
