The Black Company, is a 3v3 campaign like RTS. It is based off a combination of fantasy fiction: The
Black Company (by Glen Cook), The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Lord of the Rings lore and some other
smaller inspirations taken here and there.
Each player will have 2 heroes and around 10-30 units, so this setup is fairly similar to Warcraft’s
melee game. Each player will start with its heroes and a small army and 1 control point. The players
controlling The Lady and The Captain will control the main bases, which cannot be captured by the
enemy. You will need to capture control points on the map, these points will periodically spawn units and sometimes resources.

There is a war raging in the Barrowlands. The Dominion, led by the mysterious figured called The Lady,
has risen to conquer all of the Barrowlands. The Black Company has been hired by rebels that are
resisting the iron rule of The Lady. The Black Company is functioning as a Vanguard to the larger Rebel
forces. You have strayed to the province of Riverhive. also the name of the main village, it is here that
they find themselves engaged by the Vanguard of the Dominion led by The Lady herself..
The Lady has fortified the old castle of Juniper to be her base of operations. The Black Company has
with the help of the locals set up a warcamp to lead the vangaurd to victory.
Riverhive and its bordering province Windreach have long been left out of the war and still hides many
secrets. There are rumours among the villagers of Riverhive that there is still a brotherly feud going on
even though these brothers died centuries ago. Then there is the locked Alchemists Layer, many local
heroes have tried to breach its three protective force walls but none have succeeded.
Riverhive and Windreach are not without physical peril either. In the north-west there resides an ugly
Hag which has bound the local bandits to her will. In the North East resides an aspect of nature which is
not to be trifled with.
There are many more things hidden and unexplored in the corners of this once peaceful region.
Game modes1. Basic Mode
In basic mode you will need to kill the leader of the opposite team. The Captain leads the Black
Companion and The Lady commands the Dominion. You will also need to stash over 200 food gathered
from various control points. Finally, you will need to capture a couple strategical control points:
Riverhive, Juniper Arena, Ancient Crypt, Windreach Blacksmith, Knights Watchtower, Hunter Cabin and
the Bandit Fortification.
This mode will automatically be selected if red is inactive at the start of the game. Basic mode will be
considered the classical mode and the game will be mostly balanced towards this mode.
Domination is a mode which has the potential to be over very quickly. Your mission is to kill all the
opposing heroes. So this mode will be mostly for the elite micro masters.
In Conquest you will need to capture X out of Y control points. At the moment the map has 34 control
points. You will need to capture about 20 out of those. The exact numbers aren’t sure yet because I
might still add a few more control points.
This mode could be played out as a basic mode, or can be played very tactical by spreading out all
your forces and capture as many control points as fast as possible. But you will be running the risk
of encountering a teamed up enemy and be destroyed..
In Attrition it will be a race for the farms, windmills, fishery and hunting cabins. Your team has to stash
up to 1000 food to win the game. So the control points which reward food every cycle will be most
important to keep control of!
So be sure to spread your forces accordingly to protect all these control points. But don’t forget to get
the outlying control points which spawn the strongest units..
5. Trade Embargo [WORK IN PROGRESS]
This is a mode I will be adding later to the map. In this mode the Black Company will have to gather up
to 300 food. But there is a catch. The food has to be transported from control points. When you have
captured a control point that awards food it will spawn a cart. This cart has to be loaded up which will
take X time. When the cart is filled up it will move towards the Warcamp to be stashed away. The
Dominion has to prevent the Black Company from gathering 300 food. When the timer runs out the
Dominion will have won!
Black Company Heroes
Player 1: Red
The Captain: Captain
The Captain has been leading The Black Company for years, it has been so long that they have forgotten his actual name, so he just goes by his title, Captain.
Abilities: The Captain will be mostly a tank hero with some buffs for surrounding units.
Player 1: Red
The Luitenant: Elmo
Elmo is second in command to the Captain. He is an accomplished warrior that has mastered the art of creating gunpowder which he uses in battle with devastating effects.
Abilities: The Luitenant will be an Assault hero which deals good damage with a medium defence.
Player 2: Blue
The Field Medic: Croaker
Croaker is the Field Medic of the Black Company. Whatever happens to you he will try and stitch you up, regardless of arrows and magic flying around.
Abilities: The Field medic will be a healing support hero which deals medium damage with a medium defence.
Player 2: Blue
The Ranger: Raven
Raven is the leading Ranger of the Black Company, he is specialised in scouting ahead of the company. He can be is unbelievable light-footed and ruthless to unaware enemies.
Abilities: The Ranger will be a DPS hero, dealing high damage with a weak defence.
Player 3: Teal
The Talented Wizard: Silent
Silent doesnt say much. He wield powerfull magic.
Abilities: The talented Wizard will be a DPS hero, dealing high damage with a weak defence.
Player 3: Teal
The Wizard: Goblin
Named after his small size, goblin is a wizard but of notable less quality than Silent. It might have something to do with his size..
Abilities: The Wizard will be a crowd control hero, dealing medium damage with a weak defence.
The Dominion Heroes
Player 6: Brown
The Lady has lead the Dominion with an Iron fist for centuries, her real name has gotten lost over the ages. When she is not leading her army she is rumoured to change her appearance into the most beautiful creature one will ever see.
Abilities: The Lady will be a DPS hero with some medium damage and a medium defence.
Player 6: Brown
Bonegnasher is first of the Taken, heroes of the past resurrected from the dead or bribed by The Lady to join her side. The magic used to resurrect Bonegnasher had made him grow in size and strength.
Abilities: The Taken will be a tank hero which deals good damage with a high defence.
Player 5: Dark Green
Soulcatcher is the sister of The Lady, she has long resisted the will of her older sister. But after centuries of defiance, she has finally turned to her sister's side.
Abilities: The taken will be an assault hero which deals good damage with a medium defence.
Player 5: Dark green
Firebringer used to be a great pyrotechnic, when he fell to The Lady she turned his heart into living fire. From this burning heart, he fuels his fire magic.
Abilities: The Taken will be a magical DPS hero, dealing high damage with a weak defence.
Player 4: Light Blue
Moonbiter used to be a great woodsman. He got killed by a pack of wolves at a dark midwinter night. The Lady found his remains the next days, together with the wolves he had slain in his defence. As a reward for his courage she resurrected him, he has been loyal ever since.
Abilities: The Taken will be a crowd-control hero, dealing medium damage with a medium defence.
Player 4: Light Blue
When still alive Howler used to be a great wizard. He first joined The Lady's side willingly but betrayed her when she most needed him. As punishment she has tormented Howler for many years, destroying his physical body but enhancing his magical prowess. Now he needs a flying carpet to carry his mutilated body around.
Abilities: The Taken will be a magical DPS Hero, dealing medium damage with a weak defence.
Some of these icons and or models are still placeholders, they can all be exchanges.
But this is the general vibe I'm going for.
