Thalorien Dawnseeker

This bundle is marked as pending. It has not been reviewed by a staff member yet.

Background Story

Thalorien Dawnseeker was a high elf warrior who gained fame for wielding the blade Quel'Delar and fought in the Troll Wars. With the sword, he was part of the defense unit that guarded the Sunwell during the Scourge invasion of Quel'Thalas until he fell in battle against the death knight Morlen Coldgrip. His corpse remains where he fell, on the southern tip of the Dead Scar on the Isle of Quel'Danas.
He was a friend of Lana'thel, who took up Quel'Delar after his death and carried it to Northrend in the service of Prince Kael'thas.
“We must defend the Sunwell from the enemy at all costs.”

However, the Quel'Delar Decoration model is missing its handle.
After its creation, the sword was given to the quel'dorei and passed down from father to son until it was wielded by Thalorien Dawnseeker against the trolls and the Scourge. Thalorien eventually fell at the hands of Arthas' lieutenants and the blade was subsequently brought to Icecrown by Lana'thel, one of the followers of Kael'thas. Lana'thel originally intended Quel'Delar to be an instrument of vengeance, but after her own demise she began to harbor hatred for the sword.

Players are able to embark on a mission to assemble the sword and either wield it themselves or trade it with their respective Dalaran faction for a weapon they can use. Doing so will reward the achievement [The Sword in the Skull].

When the Ashen Verdict, alongside the Horde and the Alliance, marched upon Icecrown Citadel, their interest in the sword was renewed. While Blood-Queen Lana'thel defiled the sword at Quel'Delar's Rest, the Silver Covenant and the Sunreavers vowed to return the blade to its former glory, and tasked adventurers to reforge and cleanse the sword. The process took them to distant places such as the Halls of Reflection,[6] the Sunwell and Dalaran.
