Why does the Demon Hunter dual wield despite it being a highly impractical fighting style? It's the Rule of Cool, doesn't really have to make sense. I'm just trying to make the attack animations a bit more unique, instead of just being the standard slash-chop-pierce.

Not trying to sound like a dick by the way, and I will consider your feedback ;)

    No offense taken :)

It can be discussed if the demon hunter attack style is impracitcal. The thing with your stuff is, that it seems to look not impractical but also just... non reasonable. But as you said, it looks better ingame so I'll take you on that :p

I'm liking how everything's coming along so far. Although I do agree with PROXY, the weird circling of the weapon seems out of place. And I, too, think he could use a set of Defend animations. They would fit the bill for his character type.

Absolutely epic, man. Probably too epic for the regular game. But freakin' amazing for a campaign, methinks.

Rule of Cool, man, Rule of Cool. Believe me, I've got some of that in mind myself... ;P

I'm leaving the spin in for now. If the response is majorly negative when I release I'll change it to a regular stab.

I would like to say that I support the rule of cool as well! Some things may also be charming, if they are not 100% super realistic.

Tauer, please tell me you are going to share this model with all of us once you are done :D

Damn that may truely be the sexiest attack animation (attack 4) I've ever seen in my life.

Walk feels a bit 'meh'. Not glorious or epic enough. Plus his head movement seems strange. I think a more intense walk cycle would feature him being a bit bent over, possibly shield slightly raised, head looking slightly down?

I for one really enjoy the walk animation. Don't forget we're still in wc3 and it has to blend in. It looks similar to paladin and arthas models and thats what it should be like IMO.

And sorry for always giving you so many contrary opinions lol. :p

^Yup, I was indeed going for a paladin-like walk cycle.

I don't think a walk cycle necessarily needs to be epic or glorious. It's more about what looks good ingame. I originally tried to make it a bit more "intense", with him more bent over with shield raised, and it ended up looking strange because of the sudden transition between his relaxed idle stance and an intense walk cycle. This way looks more natural ingame.

Anyway, still tweaking the walk cycle.

Well, everybody's got opinions :p I'm glad to hear them, even though I will inevitably disagree with some of them.

    Stand/Walk Defend:

See this one features a more intense walk cycle, because the idle animation is also like that. The transition looks more natural, making it look better ingame.

That's even better. I was just worried that you wouldn't actually implement Defend animations. Are you sure his shoulderpad 'pin' should be floating around like that though? Does it look good with his arm? I can't tell at this angle.

Yeah that pin should probably be attached to the chest, as they are usually used for holding cloaks in place.

^Good point, attached it to the chest.

Thanks mate! 1240 polys and 512x512 texture (as all of my textures). I usually try to keep my models under (or around) 1000 polys, let myself go a little with this one :p

Compressed the texture at 75% in BLP Lab, so it has lost some of its quality. I guess that's the price for lower filesize. I've uploaded an uncompressed version here, that way people can compress it (or don't) to their liking.
