Ok now, I've started a little side project. Might finnish, might not, but any ways I had an idea for it. The setting of it is under water, so i wanted it so that most units can switch from walking on the ground to "swimming" (flying) in the "Water" (Air). Now, I've figured there are two ways I can go about doing this. I can either make a spell based off the "storm crow form" spell for every unit I want swimmible, or I can make a dummy spell and trigger that changes their pathing from foot to flying when used. Now here's the problem: I can find a trigger that'll do that. So i'm wondringif any body could help there.

And if this belongs inthe request forum, please move it, I was debating for about 20 minutes which one it would belong in.

the setting of my map is under water, and I'm using an underwater enviroment system to make it look like such. The ground is the ground, but instead of air its water. I know how units move in game, so I need to find a way to change a units movement-type from foot to flying with out makeing a whole bunch of morphing spells for each induvidial unit.

But thats the thing, I don't wanna use that. the reason being is that in the end I'm gonna have most, if not ALL units being able to change, and I don't want to make a new abilty for every one. I was hoping for a trigger that could change the triggering unit flying height AND pathing from foot (grunt pathing) to flying(dragonhawk pathing).

There is no possibility to change only the pathing type apart from transforming unit to another. Sorry!

Wrong... using triggers, add storm crow form. This allows you to change flying hieght and gives the unit a "flying" pathing. Set the flying height and then remove the ability and voila: swimming/flying unit. I am pretty sure you only have to add this once; the only downside is that I don't think you can remove the flying pathing. But anyway, that should do it for ya!

They were saying that it would somehow make the unit fly (move type), or that's the impression I got.

That's exactly what I am saying. It makes the unit's move type change to flying, so you can set the height. You don't have to use the ability at all; just add it then get rid of it, and voila: you have yourself a flying unit. I know it sounds kinda crazy, but I am pretty sure that's how you do it...

Well, if that was the case, it wouldn't be that useful for jumps and such, so it's more likely that if it even adds flying at all, it only adds it when they have it

Hmmm.... lemme check on that. Hold on a sec...

Okay, so, update. I was mistaken in that it does not change move type to flying. It must have been used in conjunction with something else when I saw it that way. Everything else was right though. You can give and then take away the ability and you will be able to manipulate height for that unit, from then on.
