Suggest moderation for already moderated resources

I suggested moderation for a few resources that were already moderated, which were all rejected because of that (aside from those that had been updated after the moderation).

So my question is: is there any point in doing that? I kind of assumed the point was to get a second opinion (or a fresh look if reviewed by the same moderator) and potentially get it a new rating. If that's not the case, why give us the option for a suggestion on resources that haven't been updated since moderation?

Edit: I do understand that it would be a slippery slope if moderators just start changing other moderators' ratings/approval status, but I was wondering if it starts to count for something if enough people give the same suggestion, or if it's just set in stone regardless.
