A continuation of player_72985's epic tale!

Introduction

Back in 2011, I decided to watch all the popular cinematics made in the old days where WC3 modding was very much alive. I gave my all time favorite Shipwrecked series a watch and it is still great to this day. I then checked out the author's profile to see if he's active anymore and sent him a PM. To my surprise he replied as I thought he left forever. And so I proposed the idea of me continuing the story of his series which he agreed to. I made him a promise that I would put all my effort and dedication into the series. I even wrote a 17 page script for the premiere episode. I also stopped all my other projects just to work on this as I fear that WC3 will completely die by the time I finish it. This is not just a cinematic I'm making for fun and to entertain others, but to pay homage to all the great works and people who took the time to create them. With my experience with the World Editor, I am confident I can pull this off. But sadly, when it comes to certain things in cinematics, I can't do it alone. So I invite anyone with cinematic experience to join me in this journey. I advise you watch the original series first:

Or you can read the summary:

A captain's ship is destroyed in a fierce storm. His crew is savagely killed by sea creatures and he becomes shipwrecked. Jacob and his surviving companion Luther must find a way off the island.

The next day they are approached by Azrael, a cursed pirate in Naga form. He informs the two that evil sea giants will attack them at night and that he will come with help to fight them off. During the night, the creatures attack the camp and Azrael returns with the help of Pearl and other friendly creatures. A battle ensues and they are victorious. Jacob, Luther leave the island in a rowboat as Azrael and Pearl escort them. They are then attacked by a giant sea elemental that kills Azrael and Pearl while the other two escape.

5 days later, the two come across another island, much more dark and mysterious than the one before. They go ashore where they meet a shaman who tells them to see a local witch doctor for help. The witch doctor agrees to help them get to Kalimdor, but first asks the two to retrieve a stolen gem that if placed on top of a volcano, will open a portal letting demons out and taking over the world. They arrive at the volcano and defeat an evil man who stole the gem. The gem is restored and Jacob and Luther are given a ship and are shown the way to Kalimdor.

As they sail, they are captured by an evil mermaid and her minions. They are taken to a prison and are held until Orcs led by Thrall raid the prison, letting all the captives out. The evil mermaid flees and the captain and Luther meet up with two survivors of the shipwreck, first mate Jones and the engineer Hanson. The crew then leave together in a ship.

The crew reaches Cabernet Falls, Jacob and Luther's old home. The whole town has been destroyed. Jacob explains that is has been attacked when the crew left which explains their voyage in the beginning. They end up finding Azrael and Pearl at the scene, who fooled the sea creature into thinking it defeating them and followed it to the town. Pearl reveals that her evil sister Cordina created the creature and that she despises all land creatures, especially humans. Jacob's crew then leaves to their next destination.

As they sail, Azrael informs Jacob that a spy following Cordina has been killed near Bian'tor. They decide to set sail there. As they arrive at the city, it is under siege. They help the mayor Gaina Klouse fight off the creatures. They then gather Bian'tor's army and prepare for war. Meanwhile under water, Cordina has gathered her massive army in order to take over all land belonging to humans.

A great battle takes place as both armies clash and fight for countless hours. Jacob then faces Cordina alone and defeats her. Her army is then heavily weakened and retreats back into the ocean. Azrael promises Jacob that he and Pearl will do all they can do prevent another conflict from happening again.

the next morning, everyone gathers in thw cathedral and Jacob finds his wife and 2 children inside. He, his family and friends all decide to start new lives in Bian'tor.

Onto the project!

So now that you're familiar with the story of the original series, my series expands on Player_72985's world with my own new unique story. A son of the hero Jacob (from the original series) plays an important role in a Human/Naga conflict that will change the world forever.

Progress
The first part is just about finished. All that remains is major fixes in several scenes, voice acting, and finishing touches. If all goes as planned, then the first part should be available for viewing in the summer of 2013. If everything goes really well, then maybe just before that.

I have everything I need apart from voice actors. I need a couple map testers, but I think I have some people in mind. If you feel like you want to contribute in any way, then feel free to message me. It would be greatly appreciated.

The following are descriptions for characters that appear. Each one requires a voice actor.

James - One of two sons of Jacob. James is a young man who's occupation is a sailor. (Main Character)

Luther - An old companion of captain Jacob during his time of being shipwrecked and until his death. He joins James on his journey. (Main Character)

Captain Wallace - A (Scottish sounding) drunk, who is an adventurous and courageous captain. (Minor Character)

Naga General - The Naga leader's right hand and champion. (Minor Character)

Naga Leader - An evil almost god-like Naga ruler. He intends to end all of Humanity by continuing Cordina's evil plot. (Main Character)

More details to be added soon.

I remember Shipwrecked. For some reason, I loved watching the episode with the big battle between Cordina (did I get her name right?) and Jacob. I still remember her voice saying, if my magic can't stop you, ORGRAM WILL!!!, and Jacob's hammers spell, it was so epic.

I think it was the music and the overall ambient, the author made a piece out of it, because, the thing is, I never watched any of the previous parts: that episode in itself told just about enough of the story for you to grasp it more or less, so it was a nice solo cinematic in itself.

Thanks so much for reminding me of these experiences.

Yea, the final battle episode was quite iconic. The way the voice actor morphed their voice to sound like her would always hurt my ears and make me cringe though. WC3C had a great amount of voice actors present at the time, but like a lot of modders, they moved on.

Also, I updated the first post with a character section. Each of them requires a voice actor, so if anyone is looking to contribute, feel free to leave a reply or private message me. Aside from finishing touches, voice acting is all that is needed. I'd hate to have to upload it without voices.

I'd like to offer my voice acting "skills", but I'm extremely busy for the next week. The first free day I have is on the 18th when I can do most of the lines.

I'm not extremely good, but I'm alright. You can find some of my "more recent" work in my last two cinematics:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0devl_ziIw (voices of Borigard Smith, Gomez Nefa and Tim Lawson).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Ws2vonoWKo (voices of Borigard Smith and Marcus Infirm).

Send me a pm if you like what you hear. Send me the characters you need and highlight the ones that you think I would be good for, and we'll continue our talk.

Always been e-friends with player (still talk to him occasionally actually) and helped on his later maps, prequal and bigger project with various other mappers. If I have some spare time, i'd probably be able to help you out with some voice acting if that is needed.

Ill try to leave review when I get the time to write one on your first installement.

That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the offer. It would be nice to hear from player sometime too. He told me to notify him when it's released so he himself can review it as well. He's not active on WC3C anymore. If you know any of his contact information, would you mind sending him a message for me? Would be great to know what he thinks. :)

Speaking of voice acting. Do you think it would be too late to add in the voices and then just update the map? Or would that be kind of against the rules?

I will give him a poke when I get the chance. Its never too late to update a map to add additional voice acting. Would only contribute to the whole experience unless it is horrible VA.
