Maiev and her watchers arrived in the ruins of the orcish homeworld, Draenor. They soon discovered that Illidan had come alone, thus the recapture proved to be fairly easy. Then the naga had arrived on Outland, and they had brought new allies: the same blood elves that Maiev had helped before. Maiev and her soldiers fought the naga and their traitorous elven friends, but the new army outnumbered hers, and eventually she was defeated. The naga and blood elves recaptured Illidan and freed him. Upon the warden's final moments, Illidan decided to imprison her instead.Soon after that, Maiev would be contacted by Akama, unsatisfied by not being given the Black Temple as promised and the wary Maiev agreed to enter a partnership and vowed to see Illidan dead.

Maiev Shadowsong - Leader of the Watchers. She treated the Watchers as her family and she grew bitter after the death of her comrades. And when their own government would not at least avenge their deaths, then by Elune, Maiev would see it done herself.

Illidan Stormrage - He along with his servants managed to overthrow the tyrannical ruler of Outland, the pit lord Magtheridon, and claim the demon's stronghold and army for himself. - In Chapter 7, An aesthetic issue of Blood Elf buildings due to using the same texture as the doodads.
- In Chapter 9, the pit lord and his minions can see you even when you are invisible, it's best to keep away from them.

- Removed Avian Warriors and now replaced by Spore Bats with new abilities.
- Salamanders now have new ability, Static Charge. Removed Demolish.

Draenei:

- Removed Faerie Dragons and Shaman.

- Remove the mana of Salamanders.
- Arcane Guardian's Haywire now decreases movement of speed instead of increasing it.
- Increased the damage of A'tamal cannon a bit.
- Akama's Healing Rain no longer gives immunity for the first 5 seconds after casting.

- Removed the mana of Guardian and Skyguard.
- Reduced the food cost of Skyguard from 5 to 4.

- Reduced the duration of Lunar Shield from 25 sec. to 15 sec. and increased its cooldown from 15 sec. to 25 sec.
- Buffed the Raise Dead ability of Fel Orc Necrolyte.
- Increase the damage of Arcane Explosion from 125 damage to 150 damage.
- Units affected by Moonlight Shadow no longer auto-attack enemy units when idle.

- New 3D campaign screen.
- Increase the range of Skyguard from 350 to 450, similar to the standard rangari.

- Fixed the Magtheridon bug in Chapter 3.

- Chapter 6 and Chapter 8 map mechanics concerning boss battles, now shares the same with Chapter 3: Magtheridon's Lair. Includes respawnable battle units and limited revivals for heroes.
- The number of revivals vary with difficulty, Easy with 5 revivals, Normal with 4 revivals and Hard with 3 revivals.
- Changes made to Lady Vashj, Kael, Mother Shahrahz and other bosses battle.
- Minor changes and additions all throughout the campaign.

I completed The Entire Campaign. I've noticed people have some problems with the difficulty on hard so I got you boys

Mission 2:

There are two main ways to complete this.

- If you use Maiev's Umbral trap. You can get vision in invisible places. You can then use blink to destroy the pink base at the top before its activated. They don't rebuild buildings or retrain or revive.

There is a maiden of Pain that is an issue. Your gonna have to kite one at a time. The Ankh of reincarnation will help quite a lot but I actually Kites here as close as possible and use the dogs and AKama's chain lightning ability.

This will cripple the base and you can handle the rest with significant ease.

If you don't want to cheese the map. Then after finding the base (make sure your glaive thrower lives. Immediately attack the Elven base.

Mission 3:

Again two ways to do this.

There is a cheese method similarly to the last mission. Since they don't rebuild buildings until the base activated you can squeeze through And destroy 3 bases (only the red and pink attack though)

I did not do the cheese method. I attacked the gray base after activating directly on the right. I was able to overpower and then run back to defend my own.

It takes some micro here but since i only need to defend one area (very rarely the red uses the long route so you can just kite them if its a problem)
You can defend against both attacks. Eventually Akama breaks down the pink base. You can help him out after you have enough resources

I did not have to help the weird creatures. They solo'd them themsleves.

Mission 5:

Akama's mission had me confused for a while. But essentially Akama has 3 ultimate abilities and there are on short cool downs.

I am unable to buy an orb of slow so that sucks. It said it needed an Arcane Castle. so very unfortunate.

You need to immediatly get the gold mine top of you and then use Akama to get the top Dranei.

You need to Keep akama at the back and use his Lightning abilities to mass attack. Just stay back enough and keep harassing the Naga. Use your allies as meat shields.

Make sure to give Akama two mana regeneration Items from the previous mission. Since Akama Needs to spend money on heavy items

Mission 7:

This one was... Interesting.

I decided to go on the offensive. And I destroyed Illidan's base. Unfortunaetly it seems like they have this issue where they summon units out of knowhere. So they attack you anyway.

I just kept messing around until I survived 30 minutes which was easier with only occassional Yellow attacks


Mission 8:


This one... Was quite annoying. In the previous mission you can use the Items you find and you can give them to one of the heroes. You should give the items you don't intend to keep to the hero you want to use in this mission.

I choose the light blue. there is a gold mine right next to the base. In this mission you should use the a choke point to deal with enemies.

I turtled on this one essentially.

Immediately build as many Towers are possible at the choke point and keep harvesting gold and lumber after you've upgraded everything.

Your gonna need a lot of towers. And ocnstant repariing. I had about 50 workers. At the end of the gold mine. This is a turtle mission.

Mission 9:

Forget The Archer. This is a Maieve solo run now.

For this entire campaign. I've given Maieve exclusively tomes. This is your queen right here.

You can launch an offensive with the pink dranei and destroy the Yellow base. As you fight more and more throuhgout. You can assist the army very naturally here and destroy the bases.

I recommend sending all the units on the archer's side to there deaths. They are wasting precious supply.

After you have incapacitated your enemy units and aren't under threat. Make Hippograpyh archers. 22 of them.

use Maieve's blink ability to join her Lieutanant.

Now with an army of 22 Hippograyph archers attack the end.

Note if you want the archer on your side to help attack the bases you can teleport maieve and then use a scroll of town portal to bring the units to your side to help destroy the enemy.


All Missions were played in Hard Mode. Honestly After you find out how this game works. Its really not that difficult.
 
Hello Sclammerz ! I enjoyed the Shadows of Hatred campaign so far. Although I noticed a bug in Chapter 6 micro mission where you invade the Coilfang Reserve. The part where Rokmar the Cackler. I noticed that the makrura mass summons other makruras. Not sure if it was intentional or an error.

Are you also planning to update Shadows of Hatred or are you working on another campaign ?

Have you ever checked the previous comments in this thread? Using the Search function is the simplest way.

I don't know if this is a bug or not. From my point of view it's a well laid trap because if you ONLY attack the Right Crab this infinite multiplication doesn't happen. Also once you kill the Right Crab you can also kill the companions and multiplication doesn't happen. If you don't hit the correct crab from the start or attack all the crabs at the same time, they start multiplying. In this situation just run away and come back later - they will be three again and try again.

The author is also working for Ties of Blood and Fang campaign, which primarily focused on Worgen. Probably because of that, SoH's update will most likely get paused at the moment.

Hopefully, Shadow of Hatred will also receive a big update that can be playable on the latest patch (with Classic graphics, though).
 
Hello, what are the hidden special items aside from Ring of Light?
Haven't been playing this campaign just yet.

Here's a well-known special items in this campaign I remembered:
1.Demon Book.
2.Arcane Shield.
3.Arcane Ring.
4.Spell Shield.

I'm not sure if those items exist on the current version of this campaign since there were a big differences between v1.4 and v2.3.0 in terms of map layout, since Sclammerz (the original author) had posted this for like 5 years ago (the revamped v2 was released in 2020).

There was supposed to be a special item after dealing with the "frog" stuff or something similar. And the Arcane Ring stuff is quite difficult to obtain for some reason.
 
Set during the same time as the Curse of the Forsaken, around WoW Vanilla and the Burning Legion expansion. This is a good quality campaign that shows the struggles of the Night elves to seize Illidan. Although it does feel similar to another campaign with the same setting (sorry, cannot remember which, but there we played as the Blood elves or Horde..), this is a pleasant campaign with unique items, units and canon lore that I adore.
Wish the author will return and work on it more, especially making Reforged 2.0 version.
 
Version 1.4 with bugs. First mission. During fight with orc warlocks I hear sound of undead hero death. This sound repeats over and over again and is very annoying. It is impossible to kill the boss in straight fight. Boss's army total strength is three times greater than player's who rescued all prisoners. Player is forced to pull out boss's fighters and kill them one by one. It is not fun.
 
This is really nice! I played both versions, and I loved how great the Draenei and the Ashtongue units are. Anyndara's spell kit is kind of meh, but she's a great support hero.

Today marked the 10th anniversary of this campaign since its version 1.0 release back in June 2016 (I was 17!). It got me looking back to this campaign and damn it was so long already.

Initially, the plan was to only make a small update (especially the Makrura spawns) and AI stuffs, however, this turned me to update more than I initially planned. At first, it was just model updates, then adding side quest in a chapter, then a new map section accessible. Now, I'm trying to revisit the Night Elf Watcher Tech Tree and decided to complete it (as the current one lacks a secondary flying unit) and made some caster modifications, and I'm trying to think the same for the Broken Draenei Tech Tree.

I am also considering making story refinements and some chapter overhaul but maybe a bit too early on that but we'll see!

Then again, working on this update may took longer as I am also working on another campaign of mine. I might work on this whenever I can.

This is what happened to me with my Curse of the Forsaken update :D it was just supposed to be a small update back in 2023, now here we are...

Me years ago: This will be the last major update!
Me now: ...

To be fair, in the recent years there are more resources that was not made available 10 years ago...and they look so good. So, I wanna update the models, now the updated models don't match their current spell kit, so tweaking a little, now the whole tech tree should be updated to align with the changes, now the map design is...and so on and so forth.

That is the story of how I just updated the model for the Battle Maiden unit, she is now reborn as Law Enforcer. 😀
