Setting unit to building to true then setting it to false

Hi today i was wondering how to give unit upgrades but i realised if i set unit to building give it upgrades then set unit is building to false, the unit will still have all upgrades even when hes not building anymore its kinda wierd for me that it even worked so i have question can it lead to crash?? since i think its kind of some bug has anyone of u ever done it before is it safe
